One of my great joys is passing by the "Black Isreaelites" or the Nation of Islam and shouting back at them "Damn Straight! I am the white devil. FEAR ME!
Tends to unsettle them, to say nothing of the tourists who are suddenly more freaked out by me than by a bunch of closet cases selling bean pies in bow ties.

McWhorter is an authentic intellectual. He goes below the surface to the anthropological and it is refreshing to see.
The part about anti-Americanism being a symptom of our universal tribal hard wiring was snipped out, but it is an important part of what he is saying.
Selfishness and tribalism have been survival mechanisms for a long time. When we shed them, we will finally be able to move forward.
