Quote of the day.

“It shows that females are not passive in averting exploitation by males with large phalluses,” says Birkhead.

in the most detailed analysis yet of duck and goose vaginas

Something we clearly need in this day and time.

BTW, I really don't think we need pics...

Who on earth sits around and thinks up these studies?

What rubbish. Evolutionary Theory would encourage the opposite to speed breeding by the most successful/strongest/agressive...rather than promote natural birth control.

met a girl at a party back in college. we talked all night. sunrise found us making out on the riverbank near the old engineering dept.

we were interrupted by a loud noisy duck gang rape incident.

and still, not the worst date i’ve ever been on.

Poor bugger!

Known throughout his school years as "Birkhead, the Wannabe Gynocologyst"...never getting a prom date; being sent to the library by the other guys whenever a panty raid was planned.

Now, spends 20 years looking at ducks' heinies for a living.

Meanwhile, in his basement, he is secretely building the Drakeman Powersuit, to show the world what he is REALLY like....

Some vaginas had spiral channels that would impede sex by twisting in the opposite direction to that of the male phallus.

Uh-oh. The gay community thrives on stuff like that. The next time you hear shrieking ducks from a duck-rape it might not be male duck culprits!

"...vaginas of females..."

Where did the conclusions in this study come from?

Males of some species, such as mallard, have a notorious habit of "raping" females.

I'm going a little OT here, it was a thought provoking article and a good post.

Last I heard, these things were considered "animals". Must be a reason why.

I'm really hesitant to attribute human motives to animals. It demeans us as humans as much as it does the animal. They have no true mind or proven conscious, self-awareness, they just "are".

I think a lot of people who attempt to validate base human behavior based upon animals are dealing with personal demons that they can't easily dismiss.

“Now, in the most detailed analysis yet of duck and goose vaginas”

Why is it I’m CERTAIN these are tax dollars at their worst...???

You know, I’ve been losing sleep for many years worrying about this very problem. Ever since I saw how much MONEY Screwed McDuck had......!!!

WHY did it take SO long...???

Perhaps it was all the feather bedding going on in Universities previously. It makes one wonder how all those Profs REALLY achieved tenure.

I’m figuring now that Hewey, Dewey, and Louie were OBVIOIUS mutants caused by inbreeding.

..who knows....NEXT someone will develop padded migratory bird bras.....!!!

sheesh.

Some female ducks and geese have apparently developed anatomical “C”-blockers.

(Whereas human females still have to bring their homely friend to the bar in order to accomplish this.)

I have a view of an pond that has ducks and geese - too many honestly - from my office. I tell you, in the spring it is like the an X rated version of the Wild Kingdom out there. Squawking, feathers flying, males fighting each other. I am sure I could make a fortune selling the videos on some perverted site out there.

Judging from all the fuzzy little ones walking around now, I’d say the drakes and ganders scored a decisive victory in the battle.
