Just got finished from shift with 28yrs of caring for King Vanity who is a medically fragile quadroplegic.
We came home from Medical Center and have been working full board to keep him going.
Doc suggested we take him back to the Med Center for hospice arrangements.
I have been his careprovider for all his life and he has asked me to stop making him get up and go like he used to do and let him rest.
His lungs and digestive sytem are shutting down due to lifelong brain stem damage.
Our Priest will be here tommarrow to give him his last rites...
He will then be allowed to chill (I will make him work when possible to get up and go) untill the good Lord calls...
We have done all possible and are respecting his right to have comfort at home.
Meaning Free Repub and CSpan Road to the White House. (each to their own)
He will be 28 on May 23 and is the longest survivor of his type.
I know the Lord will grant him many years to come just not as a go go guy.
Medically he can not tolerate the constant hands on care as his health requires more and more constant care.
King Vanity is an active Catholic and a member of Militia Imaculta Fr.Kolbe ministries which is his life long goal of lifting all others up in his suffering through Prayers.

He had a good ole lifelong weekly reader freind come so not out of the normal.
He is very combative along with shut down yet comfy when he is sleeping.
Not the first time in his 28yrs that I have run along with others our legs off but the marathons are getting tougher on all of us esp the fellow fighting for one more good day.
We are now (busy as ever) doing daily life at home with some who have been with us in love/support.
Sleeping for Mom is getting a bit edgy as my feelings our coming out in dreams.
However we are both tandum sleeping so that we stay in sync.
I have to say that God may choose or not we don’t know to have KV resting for years before going home.
Depends on what KV is up for and the Lord is lovingly able to salvage from a dedicated soul.
I will update as the tide comes now.
I also want to lift all the others here up in Prayers as we have a huge amount of sisters/brothers preparing for their call.
His next day to recieve the Body of Christ is May 23rd his 28th birthday.
One thing I noticed is the birds around the yard seem to fly slower than ever, yes I know my perception is different but it is nice to see life around us as I hustle/bustle go slow and give a simple smile to the day.

Working hard shift by shift to offer KV care, he is accepting the offer and all ya’ll (s) prayers.
Is he healed perfect, no but with time he will be once again (losing track of now after 28 years) the comeback dawg/kid.
We have had most excellant support from the trusted few on this side of the screen.

I am like so craving a Pancake.
When Chrissy was in the hosp. I would get a meal and it envolved pancakes and heart healthy eaggs.
I don’t dare but I bought on the way home Squalamishie (sic) Falls pancake mix... roh roh...wish I had time and energy to get to a kitchen.
Insurance company called today...
They have kicked in to hospice.
We will get a much needed RN out once a week to check him out and a lab to come out and do blood work so we can care for any infections.
Gal from our company was not happy...hence delay.
A whole lotta folks love him and are not up to what reality we are living.
Celebrated my Birth Day .....mean while I was busy planning his....Working on a local church choir to have a few folks come out and sing his favorite song...Amazing Grace.
Getting tired even with sleep but grabbing the wings of my angels.
I won’t part from KV.
Son of a gun will work my lil legs off to the end. : )

Lab came back all good.
So definitely can narrow all his health issues down to his brain damage from birth.
He has excepted the pseudo home bound mode and knows if he has a good day and Mom is not exhausted from the constant care he will go out for social time.
Has a neighbor coming on Mondays to read out loud as long as he is calm and he is learning he is responsible for his health.
Meds are really helping keep him comfortable.
Copious secretions are still a huge issue so I have been taking the suction machine when we do venture out.
The day to day care still takes up most of the time more than ever in the past and he understands there just is not enough time in the day to manage his health care needs and go out get excited to the point of breathing problems.
In a nutshell we are at the next phase of life.
The new meds to keep things flowing and preventing a bowel obstruction are working but ya just never know when and how many times another barrier to planning events.
One day at a time, or on care shift at a time.
So now Dancing with the stars and American Idol have become regular events to tune into.
Well he is getting good use of the 60inch HDTV I was able to purchase due to a small inheritance left to me.
So all is good and God has been there to emotionally help me resolve this new phase of life in his care.
I asked Jesus to set me down now so I can walk again.
