No body admires quitters. The Dems are quitters.

I have the feeling that this is all going to backfire on the dems. I really don’t think the American people want to be losers and quitters, nor do they want to abandon millions of innocents to a bloodbath in Iraq and hand a “victory” to the terrorists who want to kill us.

Eventually it’s going to look like exactly what it is: the uni-dimensional Democrats endlessly accomplishing nothing, wasting time and resources, and dragging America through the mud in the process.
If they sputter long enough, they’re very open to criticism of having nothing new to offer.

I can’t help but wonder how Rep. Duncan Hunter’s day is going for him the “day after”.

It bewilders me why these Republicans have tied themselves so closely to this president

The Democrats are deluded. They think running on defeat will help them expand their congressional majorities next fall? Its all about short-term political advantage with these people. The country's highest interests don't factor into their behavior.

“Our goal is to keep giving them votes” on Iraq, said Emanuel, widely considered one of Capitol Hill’s savviest political tacticians.””
Savvy? Let’s see, about the only thing going for Bush these days is the Dems on Iraq funding, and Hillary, Reid, etc. look deathly afraid of a veto,...they fear the repeated votes,
So a new plan, Rahm says it was the Dems’ plan all along!
Savvy? Little League.

Convinced that Bush will never listen to their calls to bring troops home, senior Democrats have concluded that they must force Republicans to vote again and again in defense of the unpopular war until enough plead with the president to change course. So that's it -- their entire strategy is to bet on a mass wimp-out by GOP Congresscritters, a capitulation of principle by the GOP congressional caucus.
If GOP'ers grow a backbone, 'Rats lose. And losers look like losers on Election Day.

Democratic strategists also believe that repeated votes on the war will allow the party to expand its congressional majorities in next year's elections They're on drugs

If the Republicans continue to support the troops, and don’t go along with the Democrat desire to throw the Iraqi people to the Islamic wolves, I don’t think it will do them any harm at all, come the next election.
