WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Duncan Hunter called Wednesday for Sen. Harry Reid to resign his post as Senate majority leader over remarks that the senator made last week that the war in Iraq "is lost" if the United States continues on its current policy.
Hunter, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee.
"In my opinion Sen. Reid, having made that statement, which can only have a demoralizing effect on our troops and an effect of encouragement of the adversary, I think it would be appropriate for Sen. Reid to resign his position as the leader of the United States Senate," he said.

Duncan just went up over Tancredo in my book!
Harkening back to the late ‘90s:
Hunter 3:16 says I just whipped your @$$ !!
I can’t believe this isn’t at the top of the breaking news section.
It is improper to credit the enemy with the intention to kill only a fraction of those they were attacking.
Again, that was my initial reaction ~ Hunter is always understating and under-reacting when it comes to the Dems and their friends in AlQaida. These guys are far worse than he ever tells us.
Of course Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and a whole bunch of their running dog lackeys think we can just sit down with these pukes and negotiate it all away.
If Hunter ever wants a real chance to be President, he's going to have to start calling 'em like it is!
HECK YEAH!
“heck yeah”!
I’d still give you the full three minutes.
FOX News had the film clip of Duncan Hunter making the full statement.
Duncan Hunter, just saying the words other candidates don’t have the courage to say.
God Bless Duncan Hunter. Many here will disagree, but I firmly believe the way to take on the leftist and their hostile media apparatus is by chucking aside the niceties, where it is indicated.
Do you remember Weasel face Gephardt calling our President a “miserable failure?” I’m one who believes the rhetoric should’ve been followed to completion with GWB calling that scumbag out as a miserable failure of human being that he is.
I think GWB would’ve shown great moxie and chivalry if he had challenged Dingy Harry to a fistfight on the WH front lawn, to defend the honor of our servicemen and women.
My point is that we need to get creative, and either beat them at their game of communication or write our own rules.
I know nothing about the man but I’m going to have to find out now. Hell yeah!! I haven’t seen this reported, other than reading it here, but that’s not really surprising.
I was shocked that no politician (repub or dem) ripped Reid a new one for that statement, especially our republican reps. I haven’t seen this covered in the media at all really.
I’m fully aware that the dems/liberals hate President Bush more than they love our Country but I can’t wrap my brain around a statement like this not being aggressively confronted. But I feel that way about Pelosi’s meeting with a documented Terrorist (Assad), too, and nothing was aggressively stated about that either.
OK, he’s got my vote.
Awesome. Duncan Hunter is the man!
Excellent. It is about time to go after this nasty traitor Reid.
I'm sure you didn't. His supporters are the Las Vegas and Reno "Nevadans" originally from liberal states coast to coast. Unfortunately, they've wrested political power from the state's landowners and traditional conservative voters.
Heck Yeah! I heard Hunter say this on ABC radio a bit ago.
Also had a call from Quinipac Univ. poll about the presidential race. By the time I got done, the poll taker is voting for Hunter too! LOL
If Leiberman would just threaten that little piss ant that he may switch to the Republican party, he would back down. He’ll do anything to keep from losing his position. It would be delicious if Leiberman would switch.
GO HUNTER!!!!!!!
Heck yeah!
