"In my opinion Sen. Reid, having made that statement, which can only have a demoralizing effect on our troops and an effect of encouragement of the adversary, I think it would be appropriate for Sen. Reid to resign his position as the leader of the United States Senate," he said.

Well said, Congressman Hunter.

HECK YEAH!

And that goes for the VP too!

It’s about time that our people started calling the Dems on stuff like this! Maybe it is the phone calls from folks like us telling them to stand up and never back down!

This is what I’m talking about. I want bold.

Where are the other candidates? There should be a chorus of calls from every Republican in Congress, from the White House, and if this were a righteous world, from the Democratic Party as well, for his immediate resignation.

What he has said is shameful, but there seems to be a severe shortage of shame around and about these days. What he as said is shocking for an elected leader of the US government, but I don’t hear any traces of shock anywhere.

If we don’t hound such a man from office, I don’t see how we can with a clear conscience ask another man to die in combat.

Here’s another gem:

“One thing that he reminded us was, this is a test of wills and he admonished us, reminded us that what we say to the world, to our adversaries and our allies, is listened to by the other side,” said Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.

“It must come as a shock to Al Qaeda leaders to have an aide come into their safe house and tell them that Senator Reid has declared that, in fact, they are winning and the war is lost,” Hunter said. “I think it’s highly irresponsible for the leader of the U.S. Senate to have said that and, just speaking for myself as the ranking Republican on the Armed Services Committee, I think that the leader of the Senate should step down from that position.”

I’d prefer that we call for Reid to be hanged for sedition, but I’m not running for president.

What Hunter said is good.

"the senator made last week that the war in Iraq "is lost" was the statement Reid made.

There was no "if the United States continues on its current policy." That's just CNN whoring it's ethics out to help the enemies of this country, just as they edited out the truth of what was going on in Iraq before we went in to settle up Saddam's bill to humanity.

Hunter, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee. "In my opinion Sen. Reid, having made that statement, which can only have a demoralizing effect on our troops and an effect of encouragement of the adversary, I think it would be appropriate for Sen. Reid to resign his position as the leader of the United States Senate," he said.

Finer words are seldom spoken in Congress.

Thanks! You would think that the urnalists would offer a tiny bit more comprehensive report of the events, but I guess that would take away from their pontificating...;’}
