A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Welcome to Warm Fuzzy Wednesday at the Finest. For those who start counting the days on Monday until the weekend, we're halfway there! So we're here to banish those doldrums and make you smile inside! Please feel free to post sweet graphics and/or little stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy - or just come by and give us a smile. Only two more days 'til the weekend!

God bless your husband..What a valuable service he is training for and such a difficult one to do. My prayers are with him, with you and those he will be sadly informing of their and our nation’s loss.
I am so glad you are there for him.

Great thread, Billie. I love cocker spaniels!

Hey, CC!! How nice to see you here today. The cocker spaniel I used for opening ping today belongs to a friend of mine - actually the cocker is the daughter of my friend's cocker spaniel - isn't she beautiful! My friend's cocker spaniel (the mother of that one) had (past-tense, because she went to Rainbow Bridge a couple of years ago) the longest eyelashes I've EVER seen on a dog!

I'll be back after lunch!

Your hubby is taking on a very difficult and emotionally tasking job. My prayers will be with him. I hope he has a good chaplain there to work with.

Thanks, Billie, you are a gem. I had a wonderful little cocker that crossed that Rainbow Bridge some years ago, but will always be in my heart.

Last week, while mowing the lawn in the backyard, a couple of scrubjays were making bombing runs on me and the dogs. I suspected they had a nest up in one of our redwood trees cuz they made that a point of rendezvous.

Well, this morning I heard a bunch of squawking and saw these two making bombing runs on something over the fence in the alley.

Investigating, I saw a cat which I chased off.

Then Bailey started chasing something on the ground, and the squawking began again in earnest. Bailey was put inside, and I found what he was chasing - a baby scrubjay running along the fence.

Definitely a Kodak moment so I got the camera and returned to the scene of the crime to discover not one but two little critters...

Overhead in the oak tree, mom or dad kept a watchful eye...

Warm Fuzzy Wednesday Poetry

Nap Notes

When it comes to Naps, if one is a Kitten
Any place at all is certainly fitting
As long as it looks comfortable to the Kitten desiring Sleep

Stretched out, curled up or plopped down in a heap
With gentle fluid curves replacing angles
Draped placidly atop a comfy Chair with paws a~dangle
It doesn't take much for a Kitten to seek some rest

Only to be found in the oddest places, as Humans will attest
With eyes closed just above a triumphant winsome smile
The Kitten is in total luxurious repose, but just for awhile
Prostrate, prone or poured like a thick liquid filling a niche

The Kitten turns off its rambunctious escapades as quick as a switch
Re~charging its Purr Box and Internal Batteries for later in the day
Unless the need for another Nap suddenly gets in the way

Thanks for the “job” you do spotbust. I remember very well the “job” mrsdd did way back when. She was there then, and she’s by my side 40+ years later. God Bless our Military Spouses - forgotten heroes.

Also, may God Bless your husband as he completes his training. It takes a special kind of man for that task and a special wife beside him. Blessings to you both.

Howdy, CC. Been a long time.

We had a red cocker spaniel, “Rusty”, when I was a pup. What a great dog he was. Loved to chase the bubbles when we were blowing bubbles.

I'm So Glad your Dog is Feeling Better, Dear (((((GeeBee))))), and I'm So Sorry Someone Abused her in the Past. :( My Neighbor Near my King's Ranch has a Dog that was Abused by her Prior Owner, and she's Deathly Afraid of Any and Every Human, Except for her New Owner, and Sometimes she Even Acts Afraid of Him. :( I'm Thankful your Dog is Now in an Environment of Caring and Love.

Dave, your Pics are just Wonderful, and I Love the Little Scrub Jays!

Jack, your Kitty Poetry Always has me Enchanted with Delight!

Dear Spotbust1, our Lord Bless you and your Husband, and you will be in my Prayers.
