Excellent. The Conservative government in Canada is moving in the right direction. The Kyoto treaty needs to be relegated to history as it was put together by people having their hearts in the right direction but completely impractical and unrealistic.

In other news: Sheryl Crow’s and Linda David’s heads explode.

LOL... good one.

95% of the nation who signed on Koyoto were not going to abide by it what so ever. The reason the US did not sign it is that because the US is the most nation in the world who honors treaties and abides by regulations and because Koyoto is a communist lunatic environmental treaty with the only purpose of destroying industries, President Bush said NO to it and thanks the Lord he did that.

Two additional quotes from the article:

From 2000 to 2004, average carbon emissions rose by 1.3% in the U.S., but by 2.2% in the 25 nations of the European Union. That, despite the fact the U.S. economy grew 2 1/2 times faster. For all the hot air emanating from Kyoto's Euro-defenders, the fact is the Green Grinch — George W. Bush — has been quietly effective when it comes to global warming.

And:

Estimates put the amount of warming avoided by Kyoto at around 0.04 to 0.07 degree centigrade. That means trillions of dollars would have been spent for a cut in warming so small it's not even clear it could be measured.
(For those who like their temperatures in Fahrenheit, that's 0.07-0.13 degrees)

Hopefully, this will also be the begining of the end of the absurd notion of earth day.

Because the government socialists need a “crisis” to take property without compensation.

Environmentalism is all about governement takings.

You’ve overstated the temp change by a factor of ten.

Kyoto, fully implemented, would have only lowered the world’s temp by 0.07C in 2050.

The Watermelon Parties want us to sign on to the equivalent of THIRTY Kyotos.

The federal Liberals - under Jean Chretien and Paul Martin dithered on implementing Kyoto.

Meanwhile, 100 fishing boats (sealing) have been frozen in the sea ice for over a week in the worst sea ice conditions in over 20 years. Even the icebreakers are stuck some of the time.

So much for the polar ice caps melting when Newfoundland (far from the pole) has 3 foot sea ice on April 23rd, 3 months past the height of the winter.
