O'Reilly wasn't much better, but Geraldo really made me mad. Where does this talk show host get off pretending to be a journalist? Remember when he was expelled from Afganistan for giving away military information?

That’s funny, because I’ve always considered Geraldo loathsome!!
To: ozzymandus
Funny, I think the same about his mustache.
To: ozzymandus
Almost as loathsome as screwing Abe Beame’s wife after his stroke when he was wheel chair bound.

After John Gibsons show goes off at six...FOX goes off.

I saw it and he did NOT say that about the Second Amendment. What he said was loathsome was the proliferation of guns in this country. He actually said that people have been arguing about gun rights for generations and that he understood that people have a right to keep and bear arms. He also said that the 2nd Amendment should be reserved for American citizens, not people like Cho.

Geraldo’s misunderstanding of where our rights come from is so basic that the rest of his arguments are meaningless, and I was extremely disappointed the BOR didn’t set him straight.
Geraldo said our rights come from the government. That’s wrong.
The Founding Fathers stated very clearly that our rights are descended from God. The Constitution was written to control THE GOVERNMENT, not to grant us our rights.

Geraldo was stating his opinion; he’s not a fan of the 2nd Amendment. Are you so fragile and insecure in your own views that you cannot stand to hear opposition?

Geraldo has also said that we should pull out of Iraq “Within 6 months” and abandon the Patriot act. He also said that we should have amnesty for illegal immigrants.
To: ozzymandus
Tell Jerry it’s safe now. I locked the amendment in Capone’s vault. Where even he can’t find it.

I’ll go you one better. Did you know that Geraldo has a gun permit. In fact when he was in Afghanistan on one of his trips, he showed the world that he was packing. Hmmmm? Just another of those elites that say, only the privileged should protect themselves.

I think that you might be meaning the episode when Geraldo drew a line in some sand on TV to display positions of various American Military Units while in Iraq on the road to Baghdad.
That was a silly episode and no real harm was done, but I heard that a whole lot of Troops were caught expressing great amounts of glee when that a$$hole got the heave-ho.
Funny, I kind of like Gerald(heave-)ho. I'd keep him around as long as people didn't take the Mental Pygmy so seriously.

He didn’t say the 2nd Amendment is loathsome. He said it is loathsome people have access to so many guns, or something to that affect. Then, at the end of the segment, he said he didn’t want anyone to have guns except police and security. He said if a professor had had a gun, he could have plugged the guy and ended it. O’Reilly said “you” (Geraldo) would have ended it, Geraldo agreed. Not sure if it was joke, or an acknowledgement of Geraldo’s personal ownership of gun(s). One shocking thing (to me) was Gerry’s implication that govts should err on the side of gun control in regards to immigrants and crazy people. Two sets of people he has shown much deference to during his career. He became renowned with his piece in the 70s on a cruel mental institution.

By his own admission, O'Reilly is anti-gun. I had thought that maybe Geraldo was changing when he admitted he carried a concealed handgun while imbedded with the troops overseas and that if he had the chance he would happily kill a terrorist. Especially when so many "journalists" were getting specifically targeted.
He wasn't expelled from Afghanistan, he was warned about giving away classified info on military movements during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. I saw that show. He drew a sand table while kneeling next to a vehicle. Showed where they were and where they were going and how they were going to move in tactical fashion to accomplish the day's mission. A couple of troops almost decked him, I heard later.
I knew the views of both men and that's why I chose not to watch. If you want a real discussion on the issue you need a REAL champion of the 2nd Amendment who is well spoken to give the talking heads a run for their money. If it had been Wayne LaPierre against O'Reilly, I'd have watched. If it had been TED NUGENT against the both of them, I'd have recorded it and shown it to my American Government classes!

Someone at Fox pushed the suck button awhile ago.Jerry Rivers is by no means credible and it seems he is there to pander to a certain ethnic group.I can not think of any other reason as his IQ is one above rock and two below vegetable. No offense to vegetables intended.
