There’s no doubt the man’s a racist. Have you ever listened to this guy? Hateful and repugnant. Divisive, racially-charged language is his shtick. His constant race-baiting is sickening and disgusting. Unfit to be on the air. What a wretched excuse for a man. Loathsome beyond words. He’s a nasty sleazeball!

But enough about Al Sharpton. As for Don Imus, the liberal shock jockass fired from his nationally syndicated show last week for using racist language so vile that Sen. Byrd would use it, the idiot probably could have saved his job simply by (a) getting Sen. Byrd and Michael Richards to lay off the N-word and (b) buying racist ‘offsets,’ which reduces the size of Imus’s racist ‘footprint.’ This would make Imus racism-neutral.

Imus at first downplayed his racist and sexist remark (”nappy-headed hos”) about the Rutgers women’s basketball team (which had a terrific run in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament) as just “some idiot comment meant to be amusing.” Two days later he announces he suddenly disagrees with himself, offering an apology to Al Sharpton, who apparently must have recently joined the women’s basketball team.

Sharpton called Imus’s initial remark abominable and repeated it several hundred times on his radio show. After hearing about Imus’s apology, Sharpton responded by inviting Imus to appear on his show to tell both his listeners he’s sorry. And to work in a plug for the Al Sharpton weight-loss plan. (The show that day was titled, ‘Potbelly calling Kettle black’.) It’s nice to see that Sharpton’s idea of the ‘healing process’ no longer means burning down Freddie’s Fashion Mart, inciting riots and getting several people killed. ‘Healing’ now means booking Don Imus and getting your radio competition fired.

NBC News President Steve Capus, whose network use to simulcast Imus in the Morning, and CBS President Leslie Moonves claimed they were shocked, stunned and aghast when they just found out what Imus has been doing and saying for 30 years. Capus, announcing the show’s cancellation and why he responded so swiftly in only over a week, told Hardball that he decided to boot Imus when he listened “to the passion of the people” who’ve played a big role in the success of NBC News — people like Procter & Gamble, GM, Ditech.com, Stables, Sprint, American Express, GlaxoSmithKline, those kind of people.

Capus and Moonves explained that insulting teenage athletes who aren’t public figures is what tipped the scales for Imus. Both deny this is Big Brother, though Sharpton tips the scales at around ‘Badly Overweight.’

Tim Russert on Sunday’s Meet the Press was on the verge of tears over Imus. He told Gwen Ifill (Imus smeared her as the “cleaning lady”) that Imus has “done a lot of good things for a lot of good people” and that Imus only said “a terrible thing.” Russert mentioned the camp Imus runs for sick children. Out of work, perhaps Imus can now finish his moving tome, ‘Mein camp’.

Already some media honchos are sounding like Russert, complaining that the whole scandal and the ending of Imus’s decades-long radio and TV career is really unfortunate and very sad. If you look at it, it’s a tragedy for all the parties concerned — fascists, skinheads, Nazis and the Democrat Party. They’ve lost an important voice!

For years and years, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Tom Oliphant, Chris Matthews — in other words, every libbie buffoon and his sister, Frank Rich — would pop up on Imus’s show hocking a book, bantering with the “I-Man” as he cracked his winning slurs. Now that the whole thing blew up in their faces, libbies either claim they never heard of the guy, or that they’re really sick of the whole Imus story. The press is beginning to complain that everything in the press is about Don Imus. The wall-to-wall coverage tragically overshadowed the real news — that we now know who the father of Anna Nicole’s baby is.

(And that Rove’s computer has a mysterious key called ‘delete’.)

With Imus off the airwaves, Democrats have lost a platform, a fund-raising venue and their fake cowboy. (On the bright side, they still get to keep their fake Indian, Ward Churchill.)

Hillary Clinton had been scheduled on Monday to go to Rutgers campus (cancelled due to weather), intending to meet with the women’s team that Imus had smeared. They really need Hillary for tips on how to deal with misogynist men. The team had already accepted Imus’s apology, so Hillary probably just wanted to look for a date. She’s also scheduled to meet with those three falsely-accused Duke lacrosse players — around April 32^nd or 33^rd, I forget which.

And while we’re on the subject, of course it’s just a coincidence that Sharpton raises a stink about Imus only at the moment the North Carolina Attorney General, Roy Cooper, cleared the accused lacrosse players of all charges, declaring in his announcement that “we believe these three individuals are innocent of these charges.” Sharpton was up to his eyeballs in this case. On the O’Reilly Factor one year ago, Sharpton said the Duke lacrosse players were just like the New York cops who beat and sodomized Abner Louima, a Haitian immigrant. Sharpton insanely insisted the Duke lacrosse players were guilty even when it was clear there were major holes in the prosecutor’s “case.” In fact, right in the middle of this “case” there was a major ho. Nifong was never going to put that lying accuser on the witness stand. Ripping her credibility apart would be so easy, a caveman could do it.

For years and years Imus was given a pass on racist and sexist cracks — which were an idiotic attempt to play to the worst stereotypes fabricated by liberals about conservatives, just as “gangsta rap” attempts to play to the worst (and equally false) stereotypes about blacks. Sharpton never made a stink about Imus until now — now when he needed a neat and clever diversion from Duke lacrosse. You decide if the confluence of these two events is just a coincidence.

Wan’t IMUS a shock jock in DC who was fired for remarks against his radio station manager? If I remember rightly, he had said insulting racial and other things for years and been given a pass.

My understanding is that in April IMUS called Hillary ‘Satan’. Maybe this is why his media pass has been lifted.

A side note: When there was a media storm about Imus, not a word from Sen. John “Liveshot” Kerry. After the Va Tech tragedy, and during the bigger media firestorm that set off, Sen. Kerry quietly offered support for Imus, and stated he should not have been fired. A week late and a testical short.
