Can you IMAGINE - the FDA is being REFUSED to inspect the plants. The safety and unsanitary conditions must be horrendous.
My best advice - don't buy pet food made in China!

The problem pet foods were made in the US and Canada, but used ingredients from China. So not buying Chinese pet food won’t help.

“...the Chinese have refused to grant visas to FDA inspectors seeking to visit the plants where the ingredients were made”
Something to keep in mind before buying any food stuffs from China. They cannot be trusted to produce safe products if they won’t even allow our inspectors in to see their pet food companies.

For people who don't feel up to home-cooking, Nature's Variety makes a grain free food called Raw Instinct... and
Natures Logic makes three foods that are grain-free.

Nothing at all that ever goes in food - any food - should ever again be imported from China.

I guess this means I can’t make CHILI with it anymore, darn.

So, stop imports of any food products from China. We can’t allow any deadly food products, from any countries.
Why import wheat anyway? I guess we are still paying farmers not to grow any/

Can you imagine if it was in the human food chain. Would they act the same way? My guess is that they would, and yet the globalists in our government continue to look the other way.

The chemical, melamine, is believed to have contaminated rice protein concentrate used to make a variety of Natural Balance Pet FoodsGood grief!
Would it be that much trouble to identify which dry foods may be affected?

I guess now I’m not so upset at the youngest dog for eating poo. It retrospect, it’s probably safer for her.

Interesting about rice. I fed my cat some IAMS chcken & rice dry for the first time shortly after this pet food poisoning story broke, and she loved it, but barfed it up with voluminous amounts of water hours later.
Never seen her do that before........

Horrible tragedy this. Loved animals getting sick. I just take solace in the fact that I stockpile and rotate my dogs food same as I do my own. Plus the corner grocery store only stocks 2 brands of dry dog food and my neighbors would tell me if they had probs.

Another source for special pets. WWW.Betterpets.com. It is the commercial spin off of WWW.bio-serv.com. Check them out. They are ISO certified and are have quality control that commercial pet food companies can only dream about. All products are checked for contaminants before and after production by outside testing facilities. Remember dogs and cats are not the only pets that could be affected by contamination.

Whenever you feed your pet Chinese pet food, it's hungry again in an hour.
If it lives.
