BLACKSBURG, Va. - The gunman blamed for the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history had previously been accused of stalking two female students at Virginia Tech and had been taken to a mental health facility in 2005 after an acquaintance worried he might be suicidal, police said Wednesday.

Or McVeigh's family.
This is total BS by the press. I could give a rat's ass if they're a minority family. They've been in this country long enough to speak out on what their devil spawn did.
She’s a genius—took her seven years to get a BA degree.
I heard on the radio this morning that his patents were hospitalized.. for attempted suicide.. which was quickly denied.. they have been hospitalized though for anxiety
I heard on local talk radio (during a commercial break) earlier that the parents are in the hospital, obviously so "distraught" over what has happened. No doubt in my mind that this is a strategy from their lawyer, to keep the parents away from the media and possible future lawsuits. The more "distraught" they appear to be (oh my goodness, they're in the hospital!), the more sympathy they'll gain from the populace and the victim's families.
I entered expecting the kids to make me look foolish, it never happened.
I had a similar experience, in that I started in my mid to late 20's and was truly stunned at what passed for scholarship in all levels of my University experience.
I don't know if there was a severe drop off in the 10 years or so since I'd been out of H.S., if it was the fact that I went to a top ranked H.S., or that I was at an advantage because of my maturity. Perhaps all three.
The one thing that was clear to me, in the classes though, was I took it more seriously. I'll never forget another student saying he "didn't have time" to get a reading done. Dude, you live at home, you don't work, and you're 18. You didn't get the reading done because there was a Manix marathon on USA Network.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.
The posted picture of Giovanni was decades old. I had occasion to meet Giovanni about ten years ago. She’s a terrible poet, a left-winger and certainly no clothes horse — she was worried that day because the jacket she had brought looked shabby. In spite of all this, she is quite outgoing and personable. She speaks her mind and has many interests in common with young people — follows sports, music and so on. I would imagine she is quite popular on campus.
“Warning signs SCREAMED in the faces at this school.
And nothing meaningful was done.
The guy should have been expelled and legal actions taken.
No, they coddled him instead.”
Yep. Here’s hoping this finally destroys the MSM generated myth that people ‘just snap’.
They don’t, there are always indicators. Always.
My literature professor swore me to secrecy and let me read some of the submitted assignments. Many of the essays began, “I am writing about___________because____________is my favorite_______________”. No imagination, no fluency, don’t need to mention spelling, but they all had HS diplomas.
No, she’s certainly not blonde. Wikipedia says that she’s known as “The Princess of Black Poetry.” And of course she’s politically correct in every other way. Pro-gay, against traffic in elephant ivory, etc., etc.

Gee...shooter had mental problems...
“I’m shocked...I’m shocked, there’s gambling in Casablanca!!!”
Ditto. Some professors did speak out, but the law protects the guilty from the innocents, not the other way around. Same with the gun laws.
This is just to sad.
Good one.
But Nikki Giovanni is worth her weight in platinum to a politically correct college administration. A thousand times better than Ward Churchill. She would be bought away in a second by another university if she chose to leave.
I think her poetry is second rate garbage. But who asked me?
Obviously they don't have any friends or other family members that can issue a statment. And I guess the creep's sister can't write any better than her brother so a statement from her is out of the question too. The silence from them on this whole thing is deafening. Sounds like it's all about THEM and their needs at this time. I guess their murdering son didn't fall too far from the tree after all.
“Gee...shooter had mental problems...

Naw, don’t you know the GUN MADE HIM DO IT.
(chuckle)
Expect a Katie ‘Blood Dancer’ Couric expose’ on guns taking over minds any day now...
She's no Tyrone Green, now THIS is poetry:

Dark and lonely on a summer's night.
Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
Watchdog barking. Do he bite?
Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
Slip in his window. Break his neck.
Then his house I start to wreck.
Got no reason. What the heck?
Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
C-I-L-L my land lord!
The university should have advised the young women to get a restraining order against the kid, that would have kept him from taking the same classes as the girls, kept him from getting the guns, and brought the law enforcement into the picture. The teacher told the kid that he couldn’t behave the way he was in her class and he told that he could. The police would have informed him that he couldn’t, at least not within five hundred feet of the girls who complained.
If that’s true then the English teachers feared for their lives.
His 2 “plays” were not worth of ANYTHING ABOVE A 0.0
Act like a creepy loner and scare your teachers into giving you a 4.0....priceless.
At the private college I went to, all incoming freshmen had to take a psychological exam. If all colleges and universities did this, they could identify a psychopath like Cho and deny him entry.
How could he possibly get a gun when he lived on a Gun Free campus??

‘where students anonymously are polled if they feel a fellow student needs help, and why? Once you triangulate the results, you may end up with three or four tags on one individual, from people who do not know each other, and then have a counselor contact that person to see if they can head of disastrous behavior. It can all be done in patient/client setting.’
Oh yeah, there is no abuse potential here. I can see it now: “The first step to recovering is admitting you need help.” From anonymous sources, how Soviet.
‘others need to be removed from the environment, others need to be cross-checked with other public behavior and police reports.’
Cure worse then the disease. Let CCW carry in class and nuts like this get their due when they go on a rampage like this.
