Va. Tech Gunman Named
By Michael Shear and Debbi Wilgoren Washington Post Staff Writers Tuesday, April 17, 2007; 9:36 AM
Virginia Tech officials today identified the Virginia Tech student who killed 32 people and then himself on the Blacksburg campus yesterday as 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui of Centreville.
Cho was a South Korean native who had immigrated to this country, the university announced on its Web site this morning. He was a senior majoring in English, and lived in a dorm on campus, officials said.

“Up close you dont need to be a skilled marksman.
Just about everyone shot at close range, other than those who were murdered thru the door of their classroom.”
While I agree, on a target range, twenty feet or less, like many handgunners I can burn an entire clip from a semi auto into ‘center mass’ in a couple of seconds...and engage multiple targets almost as fast.
But actually ‘doing it’ is another matter entirely.
Second, I don’t know the ‘range’ at which anyone was shot yet, and haven’t seen any sort of diagram, or measurements released as of this post.
Kinda chilling. The internet isn't as free as it was once. Luckily, sites picked up the quotes and put them out there for posterity.
I don’t know.
“Dont you see the media set-up here?
Its time to ban the NRA, shooting ranges and guns in general again.”
And that would be different from any other day, week, or month...how, exactly?
(chuckle)
Correct.
If you’re born out of the country, and your parents qualify for a green card, you too have a green card. He’s got a green card, not a student visa, and at that age, it’s almost a requirement that if you have a green card, you have to be the child of an immigrant because of the way green cards are issued.
I do believe that I read his parents live in the state, but I might be confusing things.
But an English Major! Wow!
“This guy, however...well, the butchers bill speaks to his skill with a semi auto handgun.
I heard on the radio this morning, an EMT who said “...this guy was BRUTAL. There were no fewer than three shots placed into each victim.””
It will be interesting to see how this guy was armed.
This is my ‘worst case scenario’ regarding a terrorists attack here at home, btw. A terrorist walking into a mall at Christmas, and opening up. Or worse yet, four terrorists doing it, from the four points of the compass, driving shoppers to the middle of the mall for the final bloodletting.
One of the witnessess in the classroom said that he changed clips on his gun quickly...I suspect either military experience or just familiar with guns in general...
Also, phone records show a listing for D Hui in Centreville, VA, with address and phone number. Could that be his father?
What reason would a gang member have to shoot at random people at a university?
And where and when did he learn to shoot so accurately in the month since he bought the gun?
Talk about sick, twisted lib freaks, check this out from Flopping Aces:
“Freedom says:

This story reaks of a staged event the headlines are totally coded as a staged event
Any time the phrase at least is preceeded before an injured or death count, its code (like graffitti is gang code) as a false flag/black op operation
Heres the proof:

Yes, Ill bet people died, but these shootings are always timed as distractions and readers of Firedoglake know were about to have Gonzales in front of Congress shortly.
Pretty interesting, eh?”

Acute angle? =P
“Your headline is grossly misspelled, newbie.”
What? It looks correct to me.
There is no way anyone could gain such familiarity and deadly accuracy with a pistol in such a short time.
He was highly trained. And not many militarys train soldiers in the primary use of any pistol. They use military assault rifles and are exclusively trained as such, not to this degree with pistols.
And of course we must not leave out those Freepers among us who post articles at 3 a.m. and then come back to complain about somone who posts the same article 12 hours later.
Nothing prepares you for the real thing.

The one thing I might add to your comments is that LEO’s are often themselves under fire, or in imminent danger, when they use their weapons.
Not so with Cho. He had no natural predators in his situation, no having to bob and weave while carrying out his shootings. Just a thought.
Police identified the classroom shooter as Cho Seung-Hui, 23, a senior from South Korea who was in the English department at Virginia Tech and lived in a different dorm on campus.
