I just found out about the massacre at Virginia Tech.
The thing that makes me most angry is that the dead students were penned up like sheep for the slaughter, in a ridiculous "gun-free zone." A better phrase would be "self-defense-free zone," or maybe "danger-free zone for armed criminals."

He was able to line up those poor students and execute them PRECISELY because he knew they were not armed.

I beg to differ. Like others here have posted, not every student is going to exercise their right to own a weapon, much less do what it takes to obtain a concealed carry permit...
This cant be repeated enough.
Many folks that are skeered of guns tell me all you need is a cell phone for protection.
A cell phone is good for reporting the crime after the fact, provided you survive.
Larry was, literally, fronting this afternoon's press conference at VT.
I might be wrong, but I don't recall him bringing up his earlier statements.
Yes, they will paint it as a broken heart/girlfriend issue, not a jihad.
I can tell you what will happen. Metal detectors will go up at every building on campus, bag searches, bans on certain kinds of backpack, mandatory classes on violence prevention etc etc etc.
