They're white, so they must be guilty (of something).

And, MOST IMPORTANT, there are many, many cases of prosecutorial misconduct across our country every year. The media covers few, if any, of these cases. Most of the victims in these cases are poor or minority Americans--or both. I would hate to say the color of their skin is one reason journalists do not focus on these victims of injustices perpetrated by police and prosecutors, but I am afraid if we ask ourselves the question honestly, we would likely find that it is. Look for a moment at what James Giles endured:

I hope we all keep him and others in mind, as we cover the celebrated exoneration of well-heeled, well-connected, well-publicized young men whose conduct, while not illegal, was not entirely admirable, either. They aren't heroes. They aren't boys. They are young men who were victimized by a reckless prosecutor--and had the resources the fight him off.

I went to the link to see if something was missing -- a description of prosecutorial misconduct that James Giles endured, but Terry has just left a blank with the colon in front of it.

Hey, Terry: how would you like having your life absolutely ruined. Yes, the Dukies were stupid organizing this party and behaved badly (wow! that's a first for ccollege boys) but does this deserve the ruining of their lives and those of their families? If anything, Terry, this case puts a great big spotlight on prosecutorial misconduct and the many other blemishes in our justice/legal system that will hopefully spare others. When I saw the abcnews.com link I knew this was slanted but it is also deranged.

The young men were able to retain a battery of top-flight attorneys, investigators and media strategists.

Which is the only reason they received the delayed justice they did.

Which, BTW, says more about the court system than it does the accused.

Fact is, this was an ordinary, nothing story — until the vote-and-publicity-hungry D.A. hit a series of loud foul balls and the news media exhibited their penchant for the feeding-frenzied, 24/7 style of dogpile reporting we have come to know and abhor. So, for media-types to suddenly assert that this was a “nothing story” rings hollow.
Had they left it alone in the first place, nobody would be making a big deal over the players now. Make your bed and LIE in it.

They definitely would not have been in this situation had they not been hiring strippers, but the price they have paid is way to high......I find this article disgusting and the author of it using the forum to bash white males.

Yea Moron, they are white so they deserve to be punished without having committed any crime. They’re rich so they deserve to be punished....this article is a POS deluxe. Moron should be put into prison and falsely accused of child molestation....

So PravdABDNC was wrong, just not that wrong. Is hiring strippers a criminal act in Durham??

As the saying goes, ‘any publicity is good publicity’, guess what:

Terry Moron has gotten oodles of comments, (mostly negative and rightly so), but he has also been linked via Drudge all day (and probably into the night) and that raises his profile, and in the liberal-left-moonbat village of idiots, all people will talk about is ‘wow, Terry sure got them wound up with that article today didn’t he?’

And everyone will say ‘Terry’s quite a writer isn’t he?’

[But he’s still a moron.]

My liberal friend still says, “well, everyone knows that they did something.” My husband asked what his parents would do if my nephew (same age) was one of these boys. I told him the I’m sure John would never have been involved in hiring a stripper. I think of all my kids and nephews and niece and none of them would have been involved in hiring a stripper. So, does that make them guilty of rape? no but it does make them guilty of hiring a stripper and so the lesson learned is be careful who you play with.

The conduct of the lacrosse team of which they were members was not admirable on the night of the incident, to say the least.

To say the least, it would be interesting to talk to some of Terry Moran's college classmates to see if his conduct was ever less than admirable.

When you are a stripper, you got to expect epithets. They sort of come with the territory.

One television show I rarely miss is the Jimmy Kimmel late show and quite often if I tune in early I force myself to watch Nightline...if this little assclown is hosting though I switch over, I just can't stand him.

He is so smarmy and effeminate that he makes me puke...he reminds me of those two creeps in the movie Animal House, the one who went on to get raped in prison and the one who was fragged by his own men in Vietnam.

From the author of the article: "During the incident, racial epithets were hurled at the strippers. "

And the author knows this how? Based on evidence collected by an out-of-control DA? Based on evidence coerced from intimidated witnesses? Based on evidence supplied by a proven liar? Based on unsubstantiated claims from a liberal media?

The author should be ashamed of himself for not realizing that he is part of the problem and not part of the solution.

I agree. If our so called journalists were not involved in office politics, national politics, their own agenda and looked for stories instead of reporting stories this type of prosecutor abuse would would be accurately reported.

Terry Moran is a disgusting piece of turd. He is racist. He promotes the stupid idea of “white privilege”.
People like him make me more and more sure that I chose my user name well.

...none of which are illegal. As opposed to lying to a policeman, or false accusations of rape, or in the case of Nifong, elimination of evidence that would work against the prosecution, or slander and libel. Now, after a year and some months, we begin to hear that the poor, poor exotic dancer suffers from being bipolar (which might have worked against her case, if it had been know a year ago) so gosh, we don't want to prosecute this poor woman, do we?

This is "Reverse Jim Crow"...two sets of laws, based on the color of your skin. And I thought that kind of thing was outlawed years ago!

A couple of quick notes for terrymoran-

“The three young men who she accused are truly innocent of the charges brought against them...”

Refrain from using sentences like this. You have no idea what the terms “innocence” or “guilt” really mean, nor do you want to know. It just throws off the whole essence of your diatribe (and if you have to ask someone else what the terms mean, it’s just not worth it...)

“As students of Duke University or other elite institutions, these young men will get on with their privileged lives.”

Ahh...that’s more like it (...a-hole)

They were part of a team that collected $800 to purchase the time of two strippers.

I thought they were 'exotic dancers.'
