WILLIAMS ANNOUNCING ON NBC, TWO WEEKS SUSPENSION
It’s one thing to criticize people for a perceived intolerance, but it’s completely different to make a statement like the one Imus made.
He clearly made “joke” that was racially based and there’s no context involved here.
And Imus was taking heat well before Sharpton got involved.
Everybody who heard it knew it was BAD the second he opened his mouth.
Let this be a lesson. Never ever apologize over an accusation of bigotry.
Imus let himself fall into their trap.
Jessie has never had a real a job, which is why he relates so well with his supporters.
My wife and I had it out over this earlier today; while it was wrong for Imus to refer to the women as “hos”, I’ll be damned if Al Sharpton is the one to take the high road on this.
If a “mainstream” black host had said the same thing, Sharpton and Jackson wouldn’t have said a damn thing. Conversely, if I was still on the radio and said the same thing, I’d have been just as vilified, because, as some people have insisted, “You’re not really black.”
And that would have been simply because I am a self-identified conservative who happens to be black.
Just damn.
If he had any guts, he would have shown up at the AL Appology session with a whole slew of comments rivaling his own and ask where Al’s opposition has been to them.
Comedy skits and stand ups, CD’s and the like. Put Al on the spot as to why others say things with impugnity while he is crucified. Is crucifiction is the standard so be it. But lets apply it equally across the board. Al wouldn’t know what to do.
Interesting point about that delay.
He basically did and Al hemmed and hawed and said it didn’t apply...
sick blacks?
Why not just call them “nap . . . . “ nevermind.
It depends on how room Imus has on his ranch.........
First of all hip hop sucks beyond compare and is an abominated perversion of music.
Secondly, I don’t think the early morning venue is the appropriate place for “nappy headed ho’s” commentary on MSNBC. Late night, no problem.
Imus mistake was caving to Sharpton. MSNBC is playing the game by giving him two weeks off.
We have a difference of opinion.
It’s not political correctness. Imus is an employee of MSNBC. If he says something that offends the network, they have every right to suspend. If I said this type thing at my job, I’d be suspended too.
I don’t understand some of you calling this pc. Some suspensions are pc motivated, sure-not this one. Imus’ statement was way out of line.
I guess I missed the coat.
When he turned against GWB, this bot left him. I’ll wager Larry King is already trying to get him to appear during his suspension, if not tonight...lol.
I could be wrong, but I think it’s mostly the liberals here on FR, you know, the one’s who vote for democrats, or liberals like Rudy, who are defending Imus here. Just my suspicion.
Well I am gloating because the PC rules have long been established and I do not wish to see liberals get special treatment. However, as far as I am concerned if he only gets suspended that does constitute special treatment so I hope that he is fired.
Just caught that. Thanks for the heads up.
JUST ON FNC CBS Has suspended his radio show as well. Not that anyone listens to it.
I suppose now, (considering the suspension) would be a good time for that POS Imus to go and make a trek to Iraq, and pretend that he actually gives a crap about anything more than his freaking ego.
Jesse is on Glenn Beck on CNN Primetime right now urrrghhhhhhhh
Never does apply does it? Funny how it works out that way.....
