Rudy's Bizarre Behavior (Unbelievable)
NewsMax.com ^ | 4-09-07 | Ronald Kessler

Rudy Giuliani has a lot to learn about campaigning outside of New York City.

The former New York mayor attended a roundtable discussion with heavy-hitters at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City recently. Two of the three co-hosts were natural gas billionaires who are CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.

“Mayor Giuliani was doing fine until one CEO asked him what his energy policy was,” a participant said. “He gave a very detailed and lengthy answer covering every energy source imaginable, but he never once uttered the words ‘natural gas.’ Considering where he was, who he was talking to, and who was sponsoring the fundraiser, it was very insulting and showed a lack of preparation.”

Another participant started to ask a question about Iraq.

“In the middle of the question, Mayor Giuliani’s personal cell phone rang, and he answered it,” the participant said. “At first, I think people thought he was kidding. But then he just started talking; and without looking up or saying anything to us, he just got up, left the room, and never came back! Everyone waited about 20 minutes, and then the room started to break up. It was bizarre behavior.”

A Giuliani spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

LOL-——watta guy.

Imagine.

Flat-leaving a bunch of heavy-hitting energy donors to pick-up milk for the little woman.

That campaign ad will sure appeal to Americans paying $4 a gallon for gas.

I guess Rudy also figured he doesn’t need the energy guys’ votes or campaign contributions. /s

Rudy that he needed to stop by at the 7-11 to pick up a quart of milk, no big deal.

You telling people he answered the phone in the middle of a campaign stop, while discussing issues with potential voters somewhere else in the nation, to pick up milk for Judy?

Bwhahahahaha

Sorry, no cigar.

Read my post at # 100. Rudy who was in Oklahoma, answered the phone to Nurse Judy in where? New York? Left Oklahoma, and then went to pick up milk on the way home. Uh...she hasn’t got a car?

The lies and spin just get more ridiculous.

If I had been stiffed for 2800 dollars I most certainly would give my name.

And if I were the Guiliani campaign, I probably wouldn't return Newsmax calls, either.

It’s just a matter of time before he has one of those screeching Howard Dean moments.

The sooner the better, when it's early enough to put in someone else.

Per the Giuliani HQs, it was indeed Judi on the phone, and she was just telling Rudy that he needed to stop by at the 7-11 to pick up a quart of milk, no big deal.

If you (Liz, indylindy) couldn't pick up the sarcasm here, then you need to be sent to Comedy Camp. o.o

Some how this is a bit hard to believe. first of all, Rudy ain`t that dumb. And, as much as we know how the MSM, particularly the NYC media hates him, this would have been on the front page of the NYT almost before it happened.

Yeah, but Judi was afraid she would break a nail picking up the gallon of milk.

So what if Rudy broke a nail.....or abandoned a voting bloc.

Don’t be surprized to see more interviews sandbagged by Rudy’s handlers with ominous phone call interruptions when Rudy botches debates and discussions

Therein lies the rub among some of us in the majority who "disapproved" of Rudy's second term. For a guy who claims to be "knowledgeable" about foreign and domestic issues, he has a tendency to come across like a Freshman who has crammed with Cliff Notes at the end of the semester.

Say what you will about Richard Nixon, but from his first stump speeches when he was running against Mrs. Melvyn Douglas, though his Latin American tour, you knew that, agree with him or not, the man had a clear cut understanding of traditional power politics, and the nature of the Soviet Threat. The same can be said of Reagan, who went from reading scripts from GE to actually listening to and studying those who were directly involved in both foreign and domestic policy.

Rudy, an empty suit if I ever saw one, has proven to myself, and others who have observed him closely that surrounding yourself with people bragging about what a genius you are and then making outlandish claims does NOT make you a statesman, it makes you Al Gore.

Well, as Gore and Rudy will find out without ever occupying the whitehouse, the graveyards are full of indispensable men.

Rudy had a great first term, and an incompetant opponent in the form of Ruth "Butch" Massingil, er, Messinger.

Unfortunately, like Jean D'Arc, Rudy began hearing the voices in his ear and head about his "call to greatness." In Jean's case, it led to victory against the Brits, and an unfortunate execution. In Rudy's case, it led to making Al Sharpton look almost rational, and Judi Nathan, the latter a fate worse than death. ;-)

I have yet to discern the empty suit aspect of which you claim familiarity. I have found Rudy to be quite facile when speaking about Iraq. The speculation that he fled because he didn’t want to answer the question, seems highly improbable. But if Rudy is an empty suit on weighty matters of state, it will emerge in due course; he will not be able to fake it forever. Just keep that lottery ticket of yours safe.

It is an example of a politician who is being “handled”

This the same campaign advice which has campaigns putting out bails of hay every time they have a stop in the south.
