Nancy Pelosi, Democrat Shadow Government, Face Logan Act

Wearing her scarf of female submission, US Democrat Speaker of the House entered Islamic Syria during the week prior to Easter. Many of us were surprised that she didn't don a full burqa. Speaking for the new US Democrat Shadow Government, after her talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Pelosi told Syria's President Bashar al-Assad (and the worldwide press) that Israel was "ready to engage in peace talks" with the terrorist nation. Wow! All it took was a woman (as a strong side note-women are considered to be below beasts of burden in fundamentalist Islamic-run countries) to settle the problems in the Middle East. If only we'd tried this sooner the world could have avoided all of the bloodshed and wars that have been ongoing for multiple decades between Israel and terrorist Islamic countries!

The only problem with San-Fran-Nan's proud proclamation is that Israel's position has not changed from that which it held before Madame Pelosi began her Middle Eastern Peace-at-any-cost Tour. After Pelosi had, essentially, announced to the world that she had virtually and single-handedly begun the end to all crises in the Middle East, the Olmert administration said that until Syria stopped its support of terrorist groups (which include Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad) there would be no peace talks. Olmert's office also issued the statement: "What was communicated to the US House speaker does not contain any change in the policies of Israel." But, the intrepid, if clueless, first female Speaker of the US House of Representatives continues to plow onward-paying no attention to reality. In fact, this is yet another blatant attempt of the Democrats to establish their alternative foreign courses of action-in opposition to official United States foreign policy. This latest Democrat action speaks loudly and surely of another infamous appeaser-Neville Chamberlain.

Why would Pelosi and her supporting and ongoing leftist Democrat-sponsored attempted coup of the US presidency engage in such right-next-to-treasonous (and in defiance of the 1799 Logan Act) behaviors? I believe there is a very simple, if not atrocious, answer. Just as Democrats (and some RINOs) work diligently to garner the votes of illegal aliens, Ms. Pelosi seems bound and determined to now win the hearts and minds-and votes-of the terrorist factions within the USA.

The words you had in italics were not from anything I wrote.

My view of Neville Chamberlain is about the same as yours--Winston Churchill has some good words for him in his history of WWII.

Well .. I’ll believe that when I see it .. because I cannot see Hillary making any move against Miss Syria .. not if Hillary wants to be president.

Pelosi Proclaims Self “America’s Prime Minister”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), self-proclaimed “most powerful woman in the world,” presented herself to Syrian President Bashar Assad as “America’s virtual Prime Minister” in a bid to “build the bridges called for in the Iraq Study Group report.” “I explained to President Assad that while President Bush is still nominally the American head-of-state he has been reduced to a largely ceremonial role now that my party controls both houses of congress,” Pelosi said. “President Assad agreed we need a new direction in American foreign policy. I felt there was some real bonding going on.”

Assad welcomed Pelosi’s visit and expressed hope that they could work together on “matters of mutual interest.” “I am confident that Speaker Pelosi and I share similar views on a wide range of issues,” Assad declared. “I think we both agree that Mr. Bush is a destabilizing influence in the Middle East and see the need to neutralize that influence.”

Pelosi’s donning of the hijab (a head scarf prescribed by the Quran for the protection of feminine modesty) garnered widespread praise in the region. “This prominent American female has shown a willingness to take a first step toward Islam,” said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. “I said the Americans must change their behavior and mend their ways. I have told them what they have to do, and I am glad to see that the American Prime Minister is beginning to comply. We can only hope this is a harbinger of the greater transformation yet to come.”

In related news, Pelosi’s inquiry regarding Saudi Arabia’s lack of female politicians was laughed off by Saudi officials. “The women in our country are not whores,” Prince Farsic al-Saud, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs snorted. “They are at home tending to their families.”

...add this one to the mix.

It sure went under the radar. This is the first I heard of it.

A top U.S. Democratic congressman met a leading member of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, an outlawed opposition group, during a recent visit to the country, the Islamic fundamentalist group and U.S. officials said Saturday.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (news, bio, voting record) met with the Muslim Brotherhood's parliament leader, Mohammed Saad el-Katatni, twice on Thursday — once at the parliament building and then at the home of the U.S. ambassador to Egypt, said Brotherhood spokesman Hamdi Hassan.

The Bush Administration doesn’t have the balls to even think about the Logan Act and Pelosi.

So Prince Farsic al-Saud called Pelosi a whore to her face?

Pelosi had it almost right when she called herself "a virtual Prime Minister" but the word she was looking for was "fantasy" -- "a fantasy Prime Minister."

Important movements in most of the colonies were made during the year 1775. There were stirring events in the city of New York. The Provincial Congress, early in its session, was strongly imbued with Toryism and timidity. Schemes for conciliation rather than for defence occupied their attention. We have seen how timidly they paid honors to Washington when he passed through the city. The same escort of honor which that Congress ordered for Washington, they ordered for Governor Tryon, who arrived at the same time, in the Asia man-of-war. The Committee of One Hundred, governed by the will of the people, soon taught the latter to be circumspect. Under their sanction the Sons of Liberty acted with extreme boldness. Captain Lamb, assisted by some of the military, and citizens led by “King” Sears, removed the cannon from the royal battery, at the foot of Broadway, to a place of safety for the use of the people. There was an encounter at that time with armed men who came from the Asia. It drew from that vessel several broadsides, which, taking no life, spread dreadful alarm. The story went abroad that the city was to be sacked and burned, and hundreds of men, women and children were seen flying in terror at midnight toward the Harlem River. The indignation of the people was so demonstrative, that Tryon, alarmed for his personal safety, fled on board a British sloop-of-war (October, 1775), from which he attempted, but in vain, to exercise royal authority, in imitation of Governor Dunmore, of Virginia. He was greatly assisted by Rivington, the publisher of a Tory newspaper in New York, in stirring up disaffection among the people. Rivington, in total disregard of truth and common fairness, abused the republicans without stint, especially Captain Sears, a native of Connecticut, but then a retired New York merchant. That patriot being in Connecticut in consultation with ardent Whigs, soon after the flight of Tryon, exasperated by some of Rivington’s abuse, went to New York at the head of one hundred horsemen, and at noon-day (November, 1775) placed a guard around the printing-office of the offending Tory, demolished his presses, and putting his type into bags, left the city to the tune of Yankee Doodle in the order in which he entered it. He took with him the metal letters, which were made into bullets. Before this the Provincial Congress, yielding to public opinion, had authorized the raising of four regiments; the construction of military works at Kingsbridge, and the erection of fortifications in the Hudson Highlands. Royal government was virtually at an end in New York at the close of 1775.

It is not clear that the Logan Act can be made to apply to any elected official, appointed official or other government employee.

After all, they all act in one degree or the other with government authority.

The only way the Logan Act can be made to fit the Nancy woman is if we adopt the UK or Canadian use of the word "government" as if we had a parliamentary system.

I'm not sure anyone wants to start calling the Speaker of the House and her minions "the government". After all, George Bush would no longer be free to engage in diplomacy without the approval of the House of Representatives.

The Logan Act is rarely invoked, and then only against private citizens. Why should “W” ignore how this act has been interpreted for the last 200 years?

Anything is possible.

“...and he shows that by the fact that he doesn’t go after them when time and again they have broken the law.”

Could be another “Rope A Dope.” They may just be holding everything close to the vest prior to the ‘08 Election. For all of his faults, I see good things ahead for when Bush leaves office...I think he’ll leave us some really nice Parting Gifts. ;)

Wouldn’t it be lovely to see her Frog Marched off the House floor around, say, September ‘08? :)

I had to watch the “Teddy Kennedy: Chappaquiddick Lifeguard” video too. Ugly, nasty event, but man than video was a hoot.

As was Burqa Girl.
