Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera had one of the most heated war of words I've ever seen on cable news Thursday.
An illegal immigrant was charged in the drunk driving death of two girls in Virginia Beach recently. Oliver Willis says Geraldo "called out O'Reilly's xenophobia for exactly what it was. This drove Bill O'Reilly insane. I was almost certain he was going to reach across the table and hit Geraldo."
The most vicious part is on YouTube:
A minute later, after O'Reilly abruptly changed the subject because time was running out ("what are you doing on your show this weekend?"), Geraldo said: "I think that one of the wonderful things about our network is that we are fair and balanced."
"People can decide whether you're right or I'm right. And they will decide that I'm right," O'Reilly responded
Johnny Dollar has the full video...
Proud of his Puerto Rican heritage? Only later when he realized he could parlay his ethnicity into a TV career. He is a classic self-aggrandizer and fraud.
Thanks! You said it so I didn't have to.
The U.S. Supreme Court was told that if they ruled to force American taxpayers to provide free education to illegals it would entice more to come. It wasn't the sand they had their heads in.
natural resources seem increasingly irrelevant. Take japan vs. africa or japan vs. russia.
“Geraldo is hispanic first and American second. That’s the problem with way too many hispanics.”
That thought is worth its own thread, perhaps its own forum.
Unfortunately, the same could be said of any number of other hyphenated “American” groups these days.
Jerry Rivers is a silicone breast implant of a human being.
the stock price went up and I suspect the company is giving the public what it wants and that is low low prices and if that means cutting customer service, so be it.
It is not the company, it is the public. The company must serve the public or else it is out of business.
CNBC had a long segment about this where people were asked if you would pay a little more for better service at it was overwhelming that the answer was no.
A total sham setup for a ratings spike. Not much different than professional wrestling

Wrong. Years before ABC tapped him he acted as legal counsel for the Young Lords. The fact is that it was the work he did for this Puerto Rican group (as Geraldo Rivera) that brought him to ABC's radar at a time when they were looking for 'ethnic' talking heads. But please, don't let the facts interfere with your rants.
Sure they do. All you have to do is take some "red flag" deductions and the robbers will be there pronto.
PH says Geraldo’s a Jew first, over everything. NV says he’s a Latino first....which is it?
Does that answer your question?

Ummm....Guys, Puerto Ricans ARE Americans by birth even when they are born in Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico's 65th Infantry Regiment, U.S. Army
65th Infantry Regiment, CASUALTY LIST SEPTEMBER 1950 TO 1953
Rivera was born in New York City to a Jewish mother that had had his Puerto Rican father change his fist name from "Cruz" to "Allen", changed the spelling of the surname to "Riviera" from "Rivera" because she was ashamed to have the Puerto Rican ethinicity connected with her son and named him "Gerald" although she wanted to name him "Sidney".
Rivera has considered getting dual citizenship ........ in Israel.
As long as you guys are using a native-born American's ancestry to bash him, why don't you just go all the way and say, "Geraldo is Jew first and American second. Thats the problem with way too many Jews.
"OMG!! We can't say such a thing just because somebody's mother was Jewish and he was raised Jewish!"
Then why say such a thing just because somebody's father was Puerto Rican?
Geraldo once thought about obtaining Israeli citizenship so that he could run for the knesset. This was years ago. Thee idea lasted about a week and he did not go through the process to get dual citizenship. But don’t let the facts get in your way.

I think its pretty horrible of you to say. I consider it borderline racism.
From WND August 2006:
Rivera said as a Knesset member he would probably not have sought to run for Israeli prime minister.
“I would be honored to serve Israel in any capacity, but would not presume to lead the country, which requires courage, experience and wisdom on a biblical scale that I don’t have. Also, the prime minister should be an IDF combat veteran. They have a better understanding than mere politicians throughout Israel and the Diaspora especially the U.S. of the emotional cost of occupation. They don’t demonize the enemy, have demonstrated their patriotism with their bodies, and have the guts to hit hard at anyone who hits at Israel.”
Still, Israelis shouldn’t count out the TV host just yet. Rivera says he might one day change his mind again and seek public office here.
“Perhaps I could have something within the foreign ministry. What about tourism? I’d work to make it hip again to spend time in our fabled and fabulous land. But with a Puerto Rican father and a Jewish mother, I would probably be better suited as mayor of New York.”

Earth to Pablo H! Earth to Pablo H!!
Why don't you read the entire post IN CONTEXT and then get back to me.

I saw the argument and it just goes to show the division we have in this country among Americans. But nobody wants to obey the rules or the laws anymore. Look at how the kids act anymore especially in school!
Gee, the guy speculated once about maybe entering Israeli politics. That’s a far cry from your unfounded assertion that he holds Israeli citizenship and has often talked about moving to Israel and going into Israeli politics. But, as I wrote earlier, don’t let the facts get in your way.
Geraldo:
-I would be honored to serve Israel in any capacity.
-Perhaps I could have something within the foreign ministry.
-What about tourism? Id work to make it hip again to spend time in our fabled and fabulous land.

IN the case of Rivers, it is because HE HIMSELF is wrapping himself in his Hispanic ethnicity; playing the very popular divisive angle rather than the traditional “we’re all Americans” melting pot perspective.
I don’t know why you are complaining to me. I broadened the criticism to include other hyphenated Americans beyond just Hispanics.
