Just seems to be some ordinary capitalism using standard practices ... not necesarilly illegal, unless there's a power play by the government.

In a way, I would hope this doesn't become a major story.

Sure, always side with capitalism even over national security.

There's not enough in the article, other than bringing charges, to say one way or another that this is a breach of national security.
We're allied with India, and it might be some foreign trade that is allowed.

But I'll concede your point and state that I don't choose capitalism over national security.

Personally, I'd like to think we could survive as a nation by closing our four borders for a few years. The socialists and NAFTAtes would hate it, but it wouldn't bother me ... we have all we need right here on our own turf.

Has anyone looked at India’s arsenal? It’s full of Russian hardware. They also have joint weapon development program with the Russians. If we export these chips and technology to India, who’s to say that it won’t end up on Russian missiles and get exported to Iran?

“It will end up in the hands of the Chinese eventually like everything else.”

For that to happen you will have to export it to Pakistan not India. India and China aren’t allies.

I’m pretty sure they’d be happy to trade weapons under the table, if the price is right, like Israeli weapon shipments to Iran from 1970s to 1990s:

Come to the think of it, the Hezbollah in Lebanon had TOW anti-tank missiles made in 2001. Gee I wonder which one of our esteemed “allies” gave it to them this time:
