NIT T-shirts fete West 'Virgina'(And no one from WV noticed the misspelling?)

CHARLESTON, W.Va — West Virginia won the National Invitation Tournament title, but its commemorative T-shirts are less than championship material. They contain a misspelling.

The "West Virginia" printed on the shirts players wore after winning the NIT Thursday night is missing the last "i" in "Virginia."

WVU sports information director Shelly Poe blamed the NIT for printing the shirts.

I don't know what is more amazing, the fact that no one noticed or that the screen printer misspelled the state to begin with!

Watch for them to GO ON SALE as collectors items on Ebay for $500 each, no one at the Tee Shirt factory was fooled, just the academic basketball players that never knew how to read.

I grew up on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. Items like these are the reason why we ripped on West Virginians so bad. It's almost karmic. :-)
