CHARLESTON, W.Va West Virginia won the National Invitation Tournament title, but its commemorative T-shirts are less than championship material. They contain a misspelling.
The "West Virginia" printed on the shirts players wore after winning the NIT Thursday night is missing the last "i" in "Virginia."
WVU sports information director Shelly Poe blamed the NIT for printing the shirts.

Shouldn't that be "West, by God, Virgina"?

At least it didn't say West Vagina. That would have really been a collectors item.
To: HEY4QDEMS
Well, there is no "I" in team. There ain't no "we" either.

I always wonder whatever happens to the other shirts, you know the ones they printed for the team that didn't win. I'd love to get a bunch of those spread through the years.

I was watching a baseball game a couple of years back and noticed that one of the Angels outfielders was wearing a jersey that said "Angees". I thought it was my imagination till the commentators started chuckling about it.

Why not print up shirts that say....
"West Virgina
We Are Number 65!"Actually, since the NCAA Tournament had 65 teams, WV would be #66...

When I was a kid that slogan had just come about. My buddy, who was 2 years older than me insisted that Virginia and vagina were spelled the same way.
As a second grader I knew he was wrong and looked it up in the dictionary to prove it. Of course, with his greater intellect he persuaded me that it was an "alternate" spelling of Virginia.
