Actually, Paul was not one of them. The two were:

Walter Jones of North Carolina
Wayne Gilchrest of Maryland

"Bush can and will demand a clean supplemental and veto and veto until the pork is stripped from the bill.

The RATS have until April 15; after that, the blood of American soldiers in Iraq is on their hands and they are terrified of the political consequences that will result to them.

Bush is holding all the cards on this. Today was pure theatre."

That's the best synopsis I've read on today's vote. I'll keep it in mind.

They're frustrated? Who gives a rip if they are frustrated?

Imagine how the soldiers in their districts must feel knowing their own Congressmen betrayed them.

I know this- the real winners today were the terrorists. Imagine the celebrating?

I was sooooooooo upset when Mike lost. I talked and talked to people over here in the "toe" part of our state.
I got blank stares. I did email Hill today and told him that this was vote #2 against our country and troops and I would be writing all the major newspapers in his district. So I proceeded to email them, the one in Jeffersonville, I'm assuming, emailed me back and asked if I had any connection to Floyd or Clark counties, I think it was. I told him not directly other than Baron Hill was all of our elected Congressman and I felt that the voters all needed to be made aware of his vote on this important issue. He told me that they usually reserved their letters to the editor to "local" people. So I imagine that my letter would not be printed and I also assume that the paper/editor was a Hill supporter. Nothing like the free, I mean socialist press.

Ron Paul wasn't one of the votes, so you can stop your idiotic, knee-jerk comments about him.

Heath.... don't come back to Knoxville. No one will want to see you again.

I hope NC is ashamed of voting you into office.

I don't think any of that is needed except perhaps the 500 million for wildfire suppression and truthfully not even sure of that. Peanuts, spinich??? What is federal government getting involved in that. Why is this money going to Red States. Are the Republicans behind this?????

It's the "my way or the highway stay-at-home" ideologues who brought to this place.

Oh whatever...I am sick and tired of you butt-kissers automatically jumping down on the throats of conservatives who simply want the GOP to fight back and act and govern like conservatives. It is this squishy, get-along, go-along, middle-of-the-road crapola that has costed the GOP control of Congress.

I don't know why you guys are pontificating when Bush has the power to veto this anyway.

So why bring Rudy into the thread, except that you can't miss a chance to spank us for not supporting Rudy which has nothing at all to do with the subject of the thread.

Exactly, they want to get on their high horses and spout their little talking points about how the "single-issue" conservatives are ruining it for everybody else. There was no comments about the GOP until the usual suspects had to jump in and bash Ron Paul and whine about how conservatives costed the GOP the election.

His daddy was a dem politician, btw.
another RINO milque-toasty wimp who was more than happy to stand behind Ilario Pantano, collect a sword, order freedom fries, and then abandon our troops.

Pretty surreal, any other country and time Pelosi and the other traitors would be stood up against a wall and shot.

Instead the GOP "talks" while good American kids die in vain.

Might as well let the Taliban and Al Queda run Congress, the result is the same.

Let me get this straight... Now that we have more troops and we're finally getting the violence under control in Bahgdad, the rats vote to make us pull pull out and leave? Why, in case the troops might WIN under President George Bush? Liberalism IS a mental disorder...

The left will not be happy until they lose this war - even if they have to do it themselves. Perhaps they have a fetish with white flags of surrender.

Kucinich was on Hannity and Colmes last night and he told Hannity he was going to vote no because the withdraw wasn't soon enough.

An HONEST republican Congress would tie this bill around the democrats neck like a millstone.. and throw them into the soundbite sea..

However we do not have an honest republican Congress..

"Here are some examples of what the Democrats consider 'urgent' needs that require 'prompt action: ' -- $25 million for payments to spinach producers -- $120 million to the shrimp industry -- $74 million for peanut storage -- $5 million for shellfish, oyster and clam producers "Spinach, shrimp, peanuts and shellfish? That's not a war funding bill, that's the salad bar at Denny's."

That's what bothers me more than anything. The bribery in order to convince an unwilling Congresscritter to support this nonsense. I just don't understand the bribe recipient's thinking. The bill is going to get vetoed anyway. Pelosi could have offered them a kazillion dollars for all it matters.

In any case, they shouldn't be holding their breath waiting for their spinach and shellfish subsidy money. They won't see dime one.
