Everybody should go to your local newspapers and fire off an editorial to your editorial page editor.

Make sure to use words like radical, leftists, surrender monkeys etc. These people need to be called out for dishonoring our troops at the least and exposing them to an even more dandgerous area of operation with the "date certain" approach.

Mark my words, I predicted this long ago, this is but the first phase. They will eventually vote for defunding the troops.

Well, all polls point to Rudy as the guy to bring the Indies to our side. You don't seriously think Duncan Hunter can do that....

Well boo-hoo, cry me a river. Either Jones is a dumb as a box of rocks or lazy as sin and won't get any real news about Iraq. Or he's just another RINO addicted to his DC cocktail party circuit. Or both. With milque-toasty wimps like this the enemy has very little that it has to accomplish on it's own.

POS RINO's. He probably has some huge $$ hiding in that mountain of pork.

Excellent, just excellent.

Told the wife last evening, he's getting a letter.

Shameful vote more money for pork then for troops armor.. Democrats would rather save trees then save troops.

Bush will veto

I wouldn't count it. He has cast one veto and that involved stem cell research.

GW has yet to turn down a pork bill.

As for the arm-twisting to get this pork, it doesn't differ much from the arm-twisting Hastert did to get votes for the Medicare Prescription drug fiasco. That drug bill vote was schedule for 15 minutes. It was several Hastert-arm-twisting hours later when the voting ended -- with just barely enough votes to pass.

The Democrats hate Bush so much, they will gladly send the country down the river to thwart him. That is obvious.

Elections have consequences. When we don't win elections, the results are disastrous. This vote proves that. I think it's very relevant to mention that many here are attacking OUR candidates, rather than THEIR (the Dems) candidates. No good can come of that.

Rudy was not up for election in the last election. He has NOTHING to do with this vote. Admit it, you just have to find a way to bring up Rudy and spank us in every thread. It's ridiculous behavior.

According to Limbaugh, that is -- $25 million for payments to spinach producer [singular]. Hopefully not the same one selling the contaminated product.

This one gets to me:

Avian Flu: Provides $969 million for the Department of HHS to continue to prepare and respond to an avian flu pandemic. Of this funding, $870 million is to be used for the development of vaccines.

Espcially after I found these:

Bird flu has killed at least 167 people worldwide since it broke out in Asian poultry stocks in 2003.

Source: Number of bird flu cases reach 50, but no infections in humans or commercial poultry farms
AP, March 5, 2007

Yet, this from Nov, 2006:

$1.3 billion more needed for bird flu - Bird Flu - MSNBC.com

Keywords: $1.3 billion more

Pelosi needed 218 votes to win and that's exactly what she got.  I find this vote to be a resounding defeat for the argument that they (DEMS) were given a mandate to get out of Iraq.   She had to bribe members of her own party with billions of pork dollars. Basically, what passed was a farm bill, with some money for the war in it.

We all know this bill will never become law so it's really not a big deal in the long run.  But we should all stand up and shout from the rooftops that Pelosi really, truly has lost the argument that she has a mandate.

She still hasn't passed a bill that has become law other than to rename a few schools, bridges and roads.

The Democrats are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. They are encouraging the enemy to keep on fighting, which results in the death of more American troops. In war, any objective less than victory is treason.

The Wicked Witch of the West promised to send a clean bill funding the troops next. I'm sure it will pass both chambers. Yesterday's thread about the house in disarray mentioned it. I don't get it...
