"Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do."
If hillary clinton had said that, people here would be ripping her left and right.
But since it's a guy with an (R) by his name, it will be praised as an act of courage by somoene who is 'tough on crime'.
Don't you just love it?

Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do. Actually, that's close to what John Locke said.
But I doubt Rudy means it in quite the same way.

I don't know what irritates me more. The fact he's running as a Republican or the fact that the RNC hasn't come out vehemently against him refuting his policies as being too liberal for the Republican Party.
I think the latter irritates me more actually...

Schools exist in America and have always existed to train responsible citizens of the United States of America. If they don't do that, it's very hard to hold us together as a country, because it's shared values that hold us together.

Sometimes I think of the 'big tent' philosophy and the saying "I'd rather have some on the inside peeing out than someone on the outside peeing in". The problem with the liberals in the GOP is that they're on the inside peeing on everything else inside.
