Ohio voters favor Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton over other Democratic presidential contenders, although her lead over Sen. Barack Obama has narrowed since January, according to a poll released Thursday.
The Quinnipiac University poll also found that former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani leads the Republican contenders among voters in Ohio, which tipped the 2004 election for President Bush.
Giuliani is favored by 31 percent of Republicans, compared with 20 percent for Sen. John McCain, 8 percent for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and 6 percent each for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and actor and former Sen. Fred Thompson.
On the Democrats' side, 32 percent picked Clinton, compared with 22 percent for Obama. A Quinnipiac poll almost two months ago showed Clinton with a 38 percent to 13 percent lead.

It will be interesting to see if Fred can connect with moderates and the center left.
Ohio is pretty toxic for the GOP these days. Hopefully things will improve there in a year and a half.

The first two reasons are Bob Taft and Bob Ney who destroyed support for Republicans in Ohio, coupled with RINO's Mike Dewhine (sp. intentional), and RINO George Voinovich.
Coupled with voter fraud in the major metro areas (Cleveland, Cincinatti, Toledo, Dayton, and Columbus) and the blue-collar union population, Ohio is not really a red state anymore.
ANY state that could elect the likes of Dennis Kucinich, Sherrod Brown, Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, etc. cannot be totally sane....
The entitlements/socialist/moonbat-fringe now controls Ohio....
Jeeze Edwards is leading Rudy by 1 point. What is he leading the other by hmmmmm? I would be more worried about that if I were you.

i did the math... the total numbers are completely wrong if the party numbers are right. if quinnipiac surveyed 1122 people: 384 Reps, 431 Dems and 306 Inds, then with the party breakdowns, the results should be:
Giuliani: 47.4%
Clinton: 43.1%
now either they did some typos in their press release or they are deliberately trying to mislead. something is definitely wrong here.
Nothing surprising here. Ohio was lost a few years ago. The only interesting part is Thompson't 6%. Not bat for a man who hasn't even announced. Also a good way to make Gualiani's poll nombers lower than Hillary!'s. PLEASE show some understanding of election politics.
