He mentions Comey as an example of good guys at DOJ. Isn't he a democrat/Clinton appointee also responsible for the Fitz-bungle?

I have always believed that it was partly an inside job on Delay and hence why no outrage that there has been when other members of congress have been investigated.
I think certain people feared he was getting too powerful and instead of realsing this was good for the party and for 2006 and 2008 cycle of elections decided that it was time for him to be removed.
Personal jealousy over party loyalty IMHO.

FNS:
First comes the apology tour.
I'm sorry, so sorry
That I was such a fool
I didn't know
Love could be so cruel
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes
You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done
[Spoken:]
(I'm sorry) I'm sorry
(So sorry) So sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind
And I was to blind to see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes
You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes
I'm sorry, so sorry
Please accept my apology
But love was blind
And I was too blind to see
(Sorry)
===
Then comes the rehab stint.

I couldn't agree more.
President Bush should also tell Leahy that Karl Rove will NOT appear before any committees. If they want to take away the President's authority to hire and fire judges, take it up with the NEXT President.
Oh yeah, and he should end his conversation with Leahy with the "Cheney salutation."

How true but how sad.
Having said that a lot of people need to realise this when they criticize politicians it may not always be their personal view but the view they believe the public at that time want to hear and sometimes we have to swallow that if we want our candidate or party elected.

If you watch MTP, you will have to conclude that Tim and Chuckie spent at least 45 minutes on the phone scripting this thing on the US Attorneys.

IMHO the President is torn over Gonzales he is a personal friend and has known and worked with him back to his Texas days.
It will be interesting to see if he decides that enough is enough and asks for his resignation.
I suspect not but Gonzales may himself offer it.

LOL. Schumer says if Gonzales steps down the WH can show the law comes before politics If Schumer is sooooooooooooo concerned about the law and politics
Maybe Schumer should step down as head of the DNC Senate Elect committee ??
Because it looks like Schumer is playing up for the election

Exactly snugs, great post.Never ever deal with commie lib rats from a stance of weakness all they understand is strength. We had no reason to come off as apologetic we should have demanded they explain why Bubba got rid of 93 us attorneys instead.

What I think is the real scandal here is that it took the White House and DOJ two years to get rid of attorneys that should have been let go within two weeks.
What are they doing there? Why the dawdling?

Getting rid of DeLay also began a period in GW's adm. when things started going wrong and there was little or no explanation from the top. A bad and destructive period IMHO, that led to the 06 losses.

Isn't it odd that Shumer is all over the alphabet news now that Mrs. Bill Clinton is officially running for president. Schumer was in a gopher hole for the past few years.

What are they doing there? Why the dawdling? IMO .. it's the stupid "new tone in Washington" crap ... working together and getting along crap
We tried it .. it didn't work like they had hoped and it's time to move on
It is possible to rip the other side without getting into the gutter with them
I wish our side would learn that
