A pure, grass-roots effort, the Gathering of Eagles' volunteers matched the massive Soros-funded anti-war machine sign for sign, chant for chant, and marcher for marcher. The contrast was most stark right before the entrance to the Memorial Bridge, where Eagles gathered with a field of American flags--while anti-Bush, 9/11 conspiracy nuts wrapped themselves in a figurative blanket of yellow "Out of Iraq" placards. Several of the vets shouted, "Yellow! How appropriate!" in between spirited chants of "U.S.A! U.S.A!" While the classless Cindy Sheehan ranted profanely, the Eagles raised their voices in polite, but roaring disapproval and raised their American flags in answer to the ANSWER socialists' Che banners and peace pennants.

Good for you! You're a good man, Per--if I had been there, we could have held each other up--LOL! And no--I don't do cold well. Mid 70's and sunny here today. I spent the day out at our ranch--no tv, no radio, no cell phones work out there. It's like a bit of heaven!
Thank you HC...I can always look at more pics of the good guys.
Sean Hannity said he would have coverage tomorrow night on his Hannity show...
BUT, he mentioned the anti-war protest...so, I am not sure how much, if any of the GOE rally he will show.
The Surge is Working!
Pray for W and Our Troops
Photo credit: FReeper SouthernBoyupNorth, TAKEN TODAY AT GOE! Thank you, SBuN!! :)
Please FReepmail me if you would like to be added to, or removed from, the Michelle Malkin ping list...
Thank you for the ping. I've been reading the other thread, and it looks like we had awesome representation today! I am so proud of everyone that could be there. Thank you Freepers, Gathering of Eagles, and all Patriots for being there! God Bless You!
Just got back home from the rally and it was simply incredible, despite the bitter cold. The Eagles are truly an inspiring bunch.
"...It's time we recognized the nature of the conflict. It's total war and we are all involved. Nobody on our side is exempted because of age, gender, or handicap. The Islamofacists have stolen childhood from the world." [FReeper Retief]
"...That the totalitarian force pitted against freedom wears a religious makes this civil war among mankind all the more difficult to engage. Loving freedom as we do, it seems reprehensible to deliberate against a religion. But this is no ordinary religion as it demands absolute obedience of all to their religion at the cost of freedom itself." [FReeper Backtothestreets]
> eee called in from DC to do the show. Funny as all get out.
I missed her, too. Heart broken. I really did try. You'd think she'd stand out in a crowd. Not this crowd. So many people.
Many of us got together afterwards, and I did get to meet some new and old FReeper FRiends.
It was announced by the organizers, at that time, that this is "only" GOE #1.
So, maybe next year.
Doh! Forgot the list.
Don't worry. I believe the silent majority are those who believe like us but can't attend such events just because we are the tax paying, hard working famly priority MEN who will vote appropriatly when the time comes, but can't always go to such events as the parent home basement dwelling middle aged pot smoking, unemployed irresponsible father liberal. "outlaw" is a word they don't even deserve because THAT would take some balls. I am so fed up with these morons, and Cindy Shee-han leads the pack... I wonder when she will go over the top to the point she is institutionalized? A nice canvas jacket with long sleeves and buckles in the back.
God Bless You.
I hope you yelled and laughed enough for both of us.
I don't know about anybody else .. but I was teary-eyed looking at those pictures. All those brave and wonderful Vietnam vets - finally they get to show what they're really made of .. it was thrilling to see them.
If anybody knows any of them .. please thank them for me. They have shown their true worth .. America is worth defending. And also thank them for supporting the very young men and women who have taken their places on the battlefield.
These memorable pictures will stay with me for a long, long time.
I was teary-eyed with a lump in my throat.
This is "my generation" ....and I am so proud of them.
I remember being told at a teenager that my generation of hippies and druggies were not going to stand for anything.
Well...there is the jon carry wing..that proved that point!!
However, those in these pictures proved them WRONG.
Well..Cindy Sheehan announced she will be at Camp Casey for Easter....( I suppose that means that Pres. Bush is going to be at Crawford)..
And, she said that they will be "taking the country BACK on July 4th in Philadelphia"..
SOOOO...another GOE might be needed on this 4th of July!!!
What a group! I just wish I could have been there to be part of all this. Those of you who went -vets and families -are national treasures. You defined what it is to be American. Thank you!
I agree .. the media has done a good job of always showing the Vietnam vet as a drug addict, drunk or homeless scum.
Today .. I saw the REAL VIETNAM VETS standing tall and proud .. as they should.
I think these vets were renewed today .. as much as my faith in America was renewed just by seeing them.
America is the greatest nation on the face of the earth and today it faced down the scum of the earth and WON!!
Women too, remember.
