Duncan Hunter--America Needs a Fresh Face
News By Us ^ | 3-17-07 | Nathan Tabor

One lesson that I’ve drawn from the 2008 Presidential campaign is that America needs a fresh face. As much as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama may try to portray themselves as agents of change, they so monopolize the media spotlight that many of us have already grown weary of them and their rhetoric.

If Americans want positive change, they should look to someone other than the political media darlings. They should look to Duncan Hunter{snip)

If I'm looking to be convinced about Duncan Hunter [and he appears to be a candidate that I can support, regardless of my tagline) this drecky testimonial isn't going to do any convincing. All we need to go with it is a rubber-chicken dinner.

In 06 the voters rejected the WOT, GOP taxcuts, abortion bans, the end of the AWB, and conservative SCOTUS judges. A more conservative candidate than Bush is unlikely do any better than Goldwater in 64.

If you're "looking to be convinced" then why don't you ask a question of substance to Duncan Hunter's son, right here on Free Republic?

Enjoy that white flag.

I won't wave the white flag unless Hunter wins the nomination. I'd rate that possibility at less than 1%.

As a recovering republican Christian conservative (by thy precepts, Lord Jesus, I get understanding, therefore I hate every false way), I and many of the offended by the rino ex reublicans, could vote for Duncan Hunter if he is what this article says he is.
Otherwise, let the rinos hope the left stays home on election day.

Maybe if Bush had governed as a conservative, the results in '06 would have been different.

Despite lacking the war chest of a McCain or a Giuliani, Duncan Hunter may yet prove to be the dark horse candidate in the Republican primary.

Go, Hunter!

A hardcore rightist candidate has no more chance of election than a hardcore leftist. We are a centrist nation, not a conservative nation. We didn't lose the country all at once and we aren't going to get it back all at once. There is no magic candidate.

American voters rejected what they saw as corruption in high places, thanks to the never-ending siren wail from the left, and the antics of Cunningham.Americans still support the war effort,it's the democrats in congress who oppose it.Same for abortion and judicial appointments.Conservative/liberal doesn't really work with Bush.

Maybe if Bush had governed as a conservative, the results in '06 would have been different.

In 2004 Bush ran on a record of unparalleled spending, failure to nominate acceptable judges, no Veto's, CFR, sucking up to Kennedy, and endorsing RINOs. The compassionate conservative was reelected with a 3 million vote margin.

Some conservatives would like to believe Bush's poor media sponsored poll number were reflected in the defeat of Graf, Hayworth, Hostettler, DeLay, Pambo, Bonilla, Gilcrist, Harris, Santorum, and other conservative Republicans. It doesn't make sense to say conservatives rejected Bush in 06, when it was conservatives who lost their seats.

Are you a liberal Rudy person who believes that homosexual indoctrination of school children is a good thing, that gun control of law abiding citizens will stop criminals from owning guns, that higher taxes and bigger government creates jobs, that taking away citizens first ammendment rights of religious prosletizing in the name of God and His dear son Jesus Christ will bring peace and prosperity to a dying America is the answer.
Go to rinos, you will lose with middle of the road liberals candidates and you will moan on if you continue to go left.

I agree. Any candidate who refuses to do what the voters want will be defeated. Some conservatives think if they elect a "principled" conservative to President he will be immune to the will of the voters who want CFR, or some other liberalism. A "principled" conservative who ignores the will of the people is just a dictator.

He is more compassionate than conservative, I speak as one who thought that he would learn from the first 4 years that he was wrong for reaching out to the liberal left that kicked his butt down the road. You just don't understand that we conservatives were hoping that he would do the right thing for Americans in the second term. Now he is suffering the rebuke of Christians and conservatives who despise his foolish girly man antics.
