Today CSPAN decided: a) not to cover the Gathering of Eagles rally, and b) to cover the Workers World Party's rally against America.
With this deplorable decision, CSPAN has spit on the American military veteran. How can CSPAN make such a blatantly biased decision? Will they defend their decision, saying that "our" rally doesn't have any celebrities like Gold Star mother, Cindy Sheehan?
What about the Gold Star mothers on our side who will be speaking? They may not have the name recognition that Cindy Sheehan has, but CSPAN viewers have a right (and an expectation) that their voices should carry equal weight. Their sacrifice is equally great, and equally as heartbreaking.
And what about the military veterans who support our troops and our country? Doesn't their voice also deserve to be heard tomorrow?
Every one of us who pays for cable television service pays to fund CSPAN's "balanced" public interest coverage, and our voices are just as relevant and just as deserving to be heard as those on the radical left who despise our country and our troops.
Our Vietnam veterans were spit on forty years ago. Today, CSPAN is spitting on all of our veterans by giving coverage to the Workers World Party/International ANSWER rally and ignoring the opposing point of view.
If you are as angry as I am right now, I have a project for you...
Tomorrow (Saturday - March 17th) give Washington Journal a call. Whatever Washington Journal says that they are taking phone calls to discuss, tell their call screener that's what you want to discuss...
And when you get on, give them all the righteous grief you can, on-air, about how they are covering a bunch of communists and commie sympathizers and kicking our troops in the balls.
Call in on whatever line you can get in on; talk nice to the screener, lie to them about what you want to talk about, and when you get in to the host - slam the bejeezus out of them!
So what if this is "dishonest," this is a war and they are siding with our enemy!

Unfortunately, I ahve an all-day event tomorrow and I need to leave around 8:30-9, but I'll try to call in and see what I can do.
I don't know which moderator thinks so little of Jim Robinson that they would knock a thread about an event that Jim has endorsed - and has even traveled across the country to attend - into a non category no-man's land.
And then doesn't even have the courage to indentify him/her self.

Now I am going back down to the basement to build a few more flags and MOABs for the event that this moderator doesn't give a damn about.
* CSPAN could cover both rallies, they are hours apart during the day. They chose to cover one side only.
Is it permissible for some of our people to walk over to where the C-SPAN cameras are at the antiwar rally and ask why they're only covering one side?

Calling them on their bias - on the air - would serve to embarrass them more. The camera guys can't choose what they cover.
Or something.
Call and tell your son's story, and say you understand that there is a gathering of patriots in DC 'today' to protect the Veterans Memorials from potential harm by the "non-violent" anarchists who are participating in a march on the Pentagon.
Ask why the anti-victory anarchists' speakers are going to be shown on cspan, and the speakers addressing the pro-troops and American veterans gathering will not be shown on cspan.

Agreed, and we must do so (esepcially jamming up the Democrat line), but why not also go to the camera peoiple and make a stink about notcovering teh Gathering of Eagles? They'll hve footage of us askign about their voerage. While they're on live, our view will be getting on and we'll be pointing out their censorship.

It has come to my attention that you are planning to cover Saturday's antiwar rally, but not the Gathering of Eagles rally in support of our troops and victory in Iraq. Why?
Isn't C-SPAN supposed to be balanced? Why are you covering only one side of this issue and covering an event organized by people who have cavorted with anti-American dictators all around the world, to boot? International ANSWER is a Communist front. its leaders have met with such models of freedom and democracy as Castro, Kim Jong Il, Saddam, and other such friends of freedom.
Their leader, Brian Becker, is a member of the Secretariat of the Workers World Party, a Stalinist organization. During an interview in Pyongyang in 2002, Becker denounced America. He accused this country of deliberately and maliciously committing genocide against Koreans. He has done nothing but give aid and comfort to the enemies of America, yet you would rather give him air time than those defending our troops and supporting victory in the War on Terror. Why?
ANSWER has a long record of supporting terrorists, as do other organizations involved the rally, such as Code Pink, which gave $60,000 to the families of the terrorists in Iraq who are killing our troops.
How can you give them air time, and give air time to the rabid hate speech of Cindy Sheehan but not give any coverage to those who are coming -- some from all the way across the country -- to support our troops and support victory in Iraq? Do you call that balance? Do you call that fairness? I certainly don't.
By tilting your coverage in favor of the anti-American side, you play into the hands of the terrorists who are killing our troops and you spit on everyone who has ever worn our country's uniform, especially those who have been in combat, and undermining the very freedom they have protected.
This is offensive to all of us who have worn the uniform and to the vast majority of Americans. It also belies your claim to be even-handed and balanced.
I hope that you will reconsider this ill-advised, unbalanced, unfair, and dangerous decision. Or do you want to relegate C-SPAN to the irrelevancy that Air America enjoys?
