Today CSPAN decided: a) not to cover the Gathering of Eagles rally, and b) to cover the Workers World Party's rally against America.
With this deplorable decision, CSPAN has spit on the American military veteran. How can CSPAN make such a blatantly biased decision? Will they defend their decision, saying that "our" rally doesn't have any celebrities like Gold Star mother, Cindy Sheehan?
What about the Gold Star mothers on our side who will be speaking? They may not have the name recognition that Cindy Sheehan has, but CSPAN viewers have a right (and an expectation) that their voices should carry equal weight. Their sacrifice is equally great, and equally as heartbreaking.
And what about the military veterans who support our troops and our country? Doesn't their voice also deserve to be heard tomorrow?
Every one of us who pays for cable television service pays to fund CSPAN's "balanced" public interest coverage, and our voices are just as relevant and just as deserving to be heard as those on the radical left who despise our country and our troops.
Our Vietnam veterans were spit on forty years ago. Today, CSPAN is spitting on all of our veterans by giving coverage to the Workers World Party/International ANSWER rally and ignoring the opposing point of view.
If you are as angry as I am right now, I have a project for you...
Tomorrow (Saturday - March 17th) give Washington Journal a call. Whatever Washington Journal says that they are taking phone calls to discuss, tell their call screener that's what you want to discuss...
And when you get on, give them all the righteous grief you can, on-air, about how they are covering a bunch of communists and commie sympathizers and kicking our troops in the balls.
Call in on whatever line you can get in on; talk nice to the screener, lie to them about what you want to talk about, and when you get in to the host - slam the bejeezus out of them!
So what if this is "dishonest," this is a war and they are siding with our enemy!

I'm sure the vets would like to sign CSPAN's "guest book" with a few words.
Godspeed to you all!
(And I WILL call C Span!)
I just emailed C-Span producers, event programmers and viewerservices at following email adds:
journal@c-span.org, viewer@c-span.org, events@c-span.org
"Your website shows that you will cover tomorrow's anti-war protest in Washington DC.
Your website also states that C-Span was created as a public service. In the interest of providing the public with balanced and accurate information, I urge you to, also, cover the Gathering of Eagles rally that will show support for our troops and their mission. Based on the purpose for which C-Span was created, it appears you have an obligation to present both sides to cable viewers. I ask you to live up to your commitment to ALL of the public."
Composing now.
Heard kristinn on WTOP this afternoon. Just a sound byte, but the ANSWER sound byte was blaming the weather for a "possibly lower than expected" turnout tomorrow, as most of their folks are coming from the snowed in Northeast.
I'm crossing my fingers that his prediction is true.
BTTT
Larry Bailey was on Neil Cavuto's show this afternoon. YEA!
Looks like they'll counter any on-air protests by pointing to John Ubaldi of Move America Forward appearing in the 8 AM slot.
But Garrett Reppenhagen at 7:30 AM needs to get a red-hot earful concerning his anti-American posturing.

Excellent idea. Even if they don't report it, the CSPAN staff might get surprised by this and know we are on to them. ;)
I'll be at work, unfortunately, but it would otherwise have made for a fun Saturday morning. :-)
PING!
Apologies to those pinged beforehand.
Tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day! Happy St. Patrick's Day! DRINK LIKE TED KENNEDY!
I'm Irish as can be, but I'm not a drinker.
Sorry to be so dense, but could you be a little more clear on exactly how to get through and what to say up front? I'm no sleazy Cindy, just a Dad who lost his son in Iraq. I'd be happy to bleed all over them or embarrass them or whatever. Just not too clear on the tactics here. Should I call on the international line and tell them that I'm moving overseas because of schucks like them? And I don't know which media channels belong to whom. They are mostly crap nayway.
I hope that Freepers will call in.
(This thread has been tossed all over the forum since I posted it earlier.)
I put it in Activism, Free Republic and News/Current Events sidebars. Then a mod yanked all of those categories and put it in "Your Opinion."
Kristinn (who is cold, wet, tired and very cranky after spending the entire day outside on-site in the rain and freezing rain supervising the setup of stage, etc., and working so hard with the GOE people to put this event together) put it into Breaking News, so Freepers far away can let their feelings be known to CSPAN.
Then a mod yanked it out of Breaking and it's languishing back here in "Your Opinion" again.
Sigh.
Thanks for the support, unknown moderator.
Understand CSPAN loves the dregs and excrement of the earth but the more they show these troglodytes the more citizens run to the right. I applaud your nobility in this but I had much rather petition Fox to step up coverage of TGOE, a channel someone actually watches. The commies are exactly where they belong on a cultural compost-heapic, cul de sac of a channel.
Any particular reason why this "Breaking News" keeps getting kicked off Breaking News?
I mean, after all, Jim Rob just traveled 3000+ miles for this. Ya think maybe a little attention might be paid on short notice to get CSPAN to respond? Ya think?
Just dropped these addresses a nice note using your info but rewording it of course and passing this along to others for their participation. Hope this helps get Gathering of the Eagles on the air. My parting words were: "I'm a proud American...Are you?"
