"Was Valerie Plame under oath for this hearing, or was all just a dog and pony show ?"

She was under oath, but since there were only a couple of Republicans present during the hearing, and those that were there, were given a list of questions they couldn't ask her, it didn't matter whether she lied or not. Who's going to question her truthfulness?

I also noticed she testified to not wanting Joe to go to Niger because she had two little kids at home. But for him to go on the tv/lecture circuit all over the country, publicizing his secret mission, that was no problem.

I guess they can do what they want, but in this case, it was the CIA that resricted the questioning. I wish I could recall the article I read about the hearing protocol, but it's been a busy day.

If she was under oath and it can be proved that she lied, who has the responsibility to bring charges?

In its May 22, 2004 edition, the New York Times confirmed a myriad of reports on Saddam's nuclear fuel stockpile - and revealed a chilling detail unknown to weapons inspectors before the war: that Saddam had begun to partially enrich his uranium stash.

The Times noted:

"The repository, at Tuwaitha, a centerpiece of Saddam Hussein's nuclear weapons program, . . . . holds more than 500 tons of uranium . . . . Some 1.8 tons is classified as low-enriched uranium."

Thomas B. Cochran, director of the nuclear program at the Natural Resources Defense Council, told the Times that "the low-enriched version could be useful to a nation with nuclear ambitions.

"A country like Iran," Mr. Cochran said, "could convert that into weapons-grade material with a lot fewer centrifuges than would be required with natural uranium."

The paper conceded that while Saddam's nearly 2 tons of partially enriched uranium was "a more potent form" of the nuclear fuel, it was "still not sufficient for a weapon."

I'm watching a replay, hearing the dems come up with all these examples of how important it is to keep CIA secrets. Plame goes right along.

Then how come no one asks her about her husband totally blowing secrecy, and how could she expect to remain anonymous after that?

Plus the liberals leak all our secrets.

Certain trolls were saying it all along. ;-)

That was my clue to watch carefully how statements were constructed.

This whole thing was manufactured. Including all the back doors for them to escape.

I will put $$ on the release date for the movie in October of '08.

I wonder how many other plots are in production as we type...

The Wilsons are part of the VIPS crowd, along with Dana Priest and the other VLWC.

"I also noticed she testified to not wanting Joe to go to Niger because she had two little kids at home. "

For someone not wanting him to go to Niger because she didn't want to stay home alone, she managed to write a memo recommending him for the trip. Plus she said she had hoped to return to overseas covert duty once her children were older. The kids just turned 7. She's presently 44. In 15 years the kids would be 22. She's be 59 at least. How many CIA analysts who spent all those years working at Langley would be allowed to return to covert status that late in life, whether they were male or female?

"I'm watching a replay, hearing the dems come up with all these examples of how important it is to keep CIA secrets. Plame goes right along."

And if that was the case, how is it that she used her ficticious CIA company to make a political donation to Al Gore? Of course the only one who brought that up was Victoria Toensing. I'm assuming that that was one of the questions on the list given to Republicans of questions they weren't allowed to ask Plame.

I just heard on Fox News that Waxman, after today's hearing, has asked for subpoenas to find out WHY Pres. Bush didn't do an investigation like "he said he would"...UGH

My post upthread:

With one addition: Gibson and he demonstrated how her statement about not sending SlimeyJoe conflicted with testimony from the Libby trial and other known info.

~~~~~~~~~~~
York: not many Pubbies there .. not hard-hitting questions;
those who asked didn't seem to be knowledgeable.
Kristof was mentioned .. York would've liked a few more questions about that meeting.
In other words, A TOTAL FARCE (my words).
This fraudulent "hearing" just about totally caps off my desire for Fred Thompson to run .. to win .. and to rid us of these nutcases and this kind of garbage.
~~~~~~~~~

York is so cerebral and calm .. unlike me and us! LOL
I had to turn off most of Rat spinning of Toensing .. could not stomach it.

My question: will there be anymore hearings on this by the Waxoinker or was that it?

I don't believe the President said HE was going to do any investigation. That was for Justice. But we knew this was coming anyway.

If the WH had investigated at the same time the DoJ was, the Dems would have been screaming it was obstructing the investigation and covering up.
