FBI Raids North American Headquarters of Japan's All Nippon Airways; Search Warrant Under Seal
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- FBI agents raided the North American headquarters of Japan's All Nippon Airways on Thursday, authorities said.
Agents executed a federal search warrant at ANA's customer relations and services office in Torrance early Thursday, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. She declined to say why the office was under investigation because the search warrant was under seal.
In a statement issued by ANA's headquarters in Tokyo, the company said it had not yet confirmed the reason for the investigation.
"There is no suspicion of terrorism and the ANA flights are operating normally," the statement said.
The center resumed operating late in the afternoon.
As Japan's second-largest airline by revenue, ANA flies to 50 destinations in Japan and 24 cities throughout Asia, Europe and the United States. The company also has assets in land, air transport, travel, hotels and other businesses.
Aparently, AP had to make sure they had an Asian to report it.
Hoover, is that you?

Yes.
Thanks for the ping piasa.

So, when "John Smith" reports on a European topic, is it because the Associated Press had to make sure they had a "European" to report it? (rhetorical).
OPINION-SPECULATION: I don't know what the search warrant contains, but this is interesting -- unknown if it is related to the search warrant.

You're getting too technical about this. What I meant is that the AP is such a PC-suckup, they had to have even a vaguely Asian-sounding name to slap on this story.
They've recently purchased some aircraft from Boeing, too. Years ago there was a hijacking where the pilot was killed.' Their CEO keeled over in 05 or 06; not sure who runs it now.
There could be any number of things
["Search Warrant Under Seal...]
Well, I guess, we don't know, and I'll roll over and go back to sleep....Yawn.
My guess would be antitrust violations. Price fixing of certain routes, adding improper surcharges, something like that. British Airways, Virgin, American, are already under investigation.
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller...declined to say why the office was under investigation because the search warrant was under seal.Is it just me, or does it seem plausible that the FBI was looking for something? Given the evidence, most likely things the FBI was looking for was either CO2, slaves, extremely large concentrations of DDT, Freon, or a large distribution ring of unregistered antihistimines.
I'm pretty certain this story will be splattered across the You Nork Slimes front page containing names, addresses, and pictures of all those involved children.
Frankly, if the Sui Nork Mimes don't lead with this story, then they have outted themselves as being the most despicable, contemptible political mouthpieces of all times. I believe that the American (and World) citizen has an intinsic inherant right to know what is going on. If the Sewer York Limes doesn't lead with this story tomorrow morning, then for all practical purposes I'll assume they, their assigns and all that use their product to advertise services and products are agents of foreign empires.
That makes sense- hey, Cindy, heard of any other FBI raids lately?
