This just came across my mail box -
This evening, Congressman Hunter will be appearing on MSNBC's Hardball at 5:30 PM EST and CNN's Lou Dobb's Tonight at 6:30 PM EST to discuss his recent trip to Iraq and his plan for the successful handoff of battlefield duties to the Iraqi army.
At 7:18 AM EST tomorrow, Congressman Hunter will be appearing on FOX and Friends to discuss the same topic.

"Well, you've only been signed up for less than 5 months (11/7/06), so you don't really know. But when big issues like this come up, it gets intense. We always seem to survive."
You are correct. I remember the more shrill qualities the Buchanan and Keyes supporters used to have. If you did not support Buchanan or Keyes you were "A RINO".
Duncan Hunter is a study in restraint by example. I'm not a Hunter supporter mind you, but he knows he can win more support by leading than by being bombastic.

It is our pleasure to have you here, Sam. I've been watching your dad closely for 20 years. Out of all the congresspeople, there were two that I hoped would one day run for the presidency. Jim Inhofe is one (the conscience of the senate) and Duncan Hunter is the other.
I agree with Henry Hyde:
REFLECTIONS PROJECT REP. HENRY HYDE INTERVIEW JULY 16, 2006 [snip]
DOUGLASS: And do you think there are many statesmen in Congress?
HYDE: I think there are lots of potential statesmen. I think there are some pretty good people here, really outstanding. Duncan Hunter is a is a man of high principle [and] courage in a very tough job. Were lucky to have him.

I have the umost confidence in your father to be Commander in Chief. After all, he is AIRBORNE! ;^)
So, I'd like to ask - What would 'President Hunter' do to shrink the size of the federal government, and give us the smaller government that conservatives have been asking for since Ronald Reagan left office?

We win with honest debate, faith and determination!

A big welcome to Sam Hunter from a solid Rudybot. Sam, while I do not support your father in the race for the nomination, unlike most on this forum, I observe Ronald Reagan's "11th Commandment" -- "Thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow Republican."
If your dad wins the nomination, he has my full support. I wish I could anticipate the same from most in the FR universe should my guy win, but I can't.
To: wastedyears
I was told that we will definitely have our people there to represent us, and that dad is going to make a strong effort to get there as well.

Good gravy, isn't this a little over the top?
Has FR already picked its candidate?
If I can offer some advice about anyone in congress running for President: Run for Governor first, win, do well, then run for President.
Outside of winning a House seat (and most districts are heavily gerrymandered at this point) has Duncan Hunter won any other elective office?
