The number of poor, ignorant conservative heavy hitters who just don't seem to understand all of Rudy's liberal positions as well as the numerous Rudy bashers around here seems to be increasing every week. Hmmmm.
To: FairOpinion
I don't pretend to be any kind of political guru, but I have a hard time thinking Rudy won't be the next president. I wish we had a conservative knight in shining armor who could win, but I don't see anyone who can get the nomination from Rudy.
And once it gets to the general election, Rudy is so much more likeable than Hillary- I don't think it will even be close between them.

Vitter said at a news conference, "Rudy has the strong unwavering leadership and sound judgment that we so clearly need in this time of war and terrorist threats".

I know that people here are anxious to back a "winner", but I'd like to ask people here what they really know about Mr. Mayor-of-the-World...
I think we'll be blowing a great chance... the Dems seem hell-bent on crowning Queen Hillary.. but do you think that Bill has really "kept it zippered" since Monica? Of course not, and sometime next year some scandal or other is going to come out... but if what we have is Mr. Cheats-on-his-wife-in-their-house, we won't be able to use that against team Clinton - they (particularly HE) are oh-so-good at talking themselves out of trouble.

Yes, that's the same Vitter who said if the surge hasn't worked by the end of the summer we need to begin looking at withdrawl from Iraq.
There's some unwavering leadership for you.

We would understand much better if he hadn't chosen to skip out on the first round of debates. However, avoiding tough questions seems to be the theme of this election.

Never served in the military. Never wanted to.
Spent 3 1/2 months as mayor post 9/11.
"Rudy has the strong unwavering leadership and sound judgment that we so clearly need in this time of war and terrorist threats".
Not my first choice (or second, or third,...) as CIC.

I don't think Vitter or Olsen are "ignorant". However, I don't understand what the rush is for these "heavy hitters", as you call them,(and not just these two) to back a candidate this early. You would think they might be wise to keep their powder dry and withhold endorsements until all the candidates have declared.

So name someone other than Rudy who CAN beat Hillary and provide better leadership than Rudy.

Well, is Hillary your FIRST choice? That's whom you are going to get if you don't get on "The Rudy Express".

Dude, even long-shots like Brownback are polling within 7-8 points of her right now. She tops off at about 48%.
I think that any Republican could beat her, if they bring the base out. That's why I think that, ultimately, Rudy can't win.

Hogwash.
Besides, I'll take Hitlery over Rudy. If I must have a choice between Liberals, why not take the one who'll give me "free" stuff?
I mean, with almost ALL of my issues off of the table..........why not vote my pocketbook?

So name someone other than Rudy who CAN beat Hillary and provide better leadership than Rudy. Rudy has a track record with Hitlery - she was ahead of Mr_Mayor in the polls when he pulled out of the NY Senate race.
Why aren't we considering the logical choice - Jeb Bush?

The last time I saw thousands of people getting on trains without knowing where they were going didn't turn out too well.
