I don't think Vitter or Olsen are "ignorant". However, I don't understand what the rush is for these "heavy hitters", as you call them,(and not just these two) to back a candidate this early. You would think they might be wise to keep their powder dry and withhold endorsements until all the candidates have declared.

I would be looking at some money being spread around. There is absolutely no reason for any conservative to support Rudy unless they are getting some quid pro quo.

Very true. And Giuliani really hasn't been talking about the issues much at all.

I'm still not wholly sure what to think of his candidacy, and McCain's makes no sense whatsoever. Romney is talking about the issues and seems to be doing so well. I just don't get the early endorsements with Rudy's relative silence.
