I agree that is the right thing to do. From our perspective. The President sees things at a higher level than us. What do you think he will do?
I think he will not pardon him. The reason for this will be his reluctance to "undo" the law, despite it being a flawed show trial to begin with. I don't think he'll worry too much over the politics of it (in other words, he wouldn't care if in pardoning Libby the dems and the DBM popped a gasket), but Pres Bush just won't wish to tarnish the Presidency that way. I think his thinking will be that a President must always act cooly, and rash decisions made politically are normally not correct and weakens the aura of the position.
Folks often think he is weak or too quiet about the rantings of the democrats but I honestly think he feels as President he should never stoop to their level.
And I wish he would give them both barrels daily!

I think if a pardon becomes necessary he will pardon him, but I don't think LIbby wants a pardon at this point in time. He is requesting a new trial....and deserves one, judge Walton refused his opportunity to put on a full defense. If Walton was a real man, one with integrity, he would overturn the verdict. He made gross errors in this trial.
President Bush is a very patient man, he WILL NOT stoop to the levels of the dem smear machine (I don't know how he resists it, I would have used very spicey language at some of the idiot dems and press). It frustrates me that he won't fight back, but I think he really does, he just fires back behind the scenes. He will not become a public spectacle like Hilly, Billy, and the rest of them.

Does anyone know if they re-air Fox News Sunday at a later time? I missed it this morning, and though it's supposed to be on now, they're covering the So CA wildfires nonstop.
As sympathetic as I am to the people near that fire...I didn't watch Fox News Sunday because I was going to watch tonight...

I think this is the element about Giuliani that is allowing conservatives to still consider supporting him even if they disagree with him on many social issues. So far they think that he's telling them the truth and not pandering. That's the element about Romney that is stalling his campaign, not his Mormonism.
And the DBM just can't see that, because to them it's all lies all the time, not only by politicians but by themselves and everyone they deal with. Reality is what they say it is, even when they know different. When things don't match up with what they say it is they just have nothing to fall back on and their analysis breaks down.
Now, if Fred gets into the race conservatives will have someone they can trust to tell them the truth (based on perception to date, reinforced by his performance today) who they also agree with on the social issues. I think he'll be able to steal Giuliani's support amongst conservatives in a heart beat, without driving up Giuliani's negatives at all. That will make for a positive campaign.
Now, is it conceivable that there could be a Thompson/Giuliani '08 ticket or would Rudy not settle for number 2?
Indeed. We have a military that is very good at counterinsurgency. I do think the ROE should be loosened, and perhaps they have been since Petraeus took over.

I wouldn't think either of them would settle for VP...
The only ones that I think would "settle" for VP would be Gilmore, Huckabee, Thompson (tommy), Hunter...maybe Gingrich.
Well...Koppel will not be asked back on an NBC news program any time soon.
