I don't see what the fuss is about. All Jenna was saying was that she hoped that her book would have a similar amount of influence on a specific issue that Frank's did on another.

I don't care about the silly Anne Frank hubbub.
What annoys me is the subject matter--a single teenager mother who gets AIDS from promiscuity--and that Jenna wants our children to read such a book. And then for good measure, she whines about us needing to be challenged on "issues of exclusion". I expect such talk from a left-wing think tank or Hillary's old Children's Defense Fund. Not from a First Daughter.

Do you have a rebuttal, or just more name-calling?

Actually the young Liberals I knew in my youth were anything but normal. They were spoiled brats who wanted to stick it to their parents, who more often than not were paying for their education. Furthermore, your immature response says more about you than it does about me.

I read your homepage and if that's not thumping on your chest I don't know what is. I particularly like the pic of you holding the machine gun above your head. Normal, for a woman, it's not. : )

Probably more than 75% - but by the time they get their first job (and see the taxes) or get married (and find out they're penalized when paying taxes), or have children and realize what the liberals are trying to feed them .. that's when most of them dump their (change the world attitude), and become conservatives.

"What percent of people dabble in liberalism in the 20s?"

Not me. Of course I've moderated as time has progressed. In my high school years when Clinton was president I was probably an anarchist. Then in my early to mid-20s I gradually went Libertarian. Now at 30 I consider myself a small r republican with a libertarian point of view. I think when I was 6 years old I may have been a liberal.

Your "normal" and mine are obviously different.

Oft repeated phrase, mistakenly attributed to Winston Churchill, true author unknown. Regardless, it's quite popular:

"If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain."

It appears that it is not just I who believes that it is not unusual for the young to dabble in liberalism.

Let me guess...you're an older male. You tend to be somewhat cantankerous. You don't like women who are intelligent and you become extremely frustrated to the point of anger with those who will not be intimidated by you.

The above is definite; this is very probable: If you're married, your wife is not American-born.

Oh...did you think you were the first of your ilk that I've met? Or that you are unique in all of that? Not by a long shot. :-)

Like I never heard that one.

Liberals during Churchill's time vs. ours are very different creatures and therefore his comment is no longer applicable. It is surely, however, quite a consolation to some, which is probably the reason it is still so often repeated.

Interesting, but for my background, I just never had any chance of being a liberal. I grew up going to Catholic School for my entire life and then joined the military. I definitely don't hate liberals, but just don't think I could ever be one especially on their stance on abortion.

Yes, but I expect that Panamanians are a minimal part of the invasion, and considering America's long presence in Panama, they are more likely to be as fluent in both Spanish and English as are our native born Mexican- American citizens.

An illegal alien is still an illegal alien, but illegals from Panama are likely less expensive to us and better prepared to blend into our society than those from other parts of central and south America.

I have a nasty attitude? I am one of those people here you accuse of being uptight?....Thank you.

I agree with you that Jenna is no Anne Frank. I fail to see anywhere that she made that comparison.

In reality though,(I kid you not) the only thing that saved Jenna and Barbara from a fate similar to that of Anne Frank, was the fact that the liberal democrats lacked the power the Nazis wielded during the days they tormented the Frank family.

What nerve to make even that comparison. Disgusting. Somebody else posted that nothing sells books or promotes films like making controversial or idiotic statements.

And it was Anne Frank who wrote her book. So I would say Jenna did make that comparison.

It seems to me that all Jenna did was to say that she hoped that her book would have a amount of influence on a specific issue to the same degree that Frank's book did.

I think maybe it would be helpful to read post 44. Extra credit if you can find a quote from Jenna, suggesting she's the modern-day Anne Frank.

"What annoys me is the subject matter--a single teenager mother who gets AIDS from promiscuity"

How do you know that she got the disease from promiscuity, as opposed to say being raped? Maybe she just feels that people should show more compassion towards AIDS sufferers and single teen moms. It seems to me that if Jenna was guilty of smoething, it would be youthful foolishness and naiveity.

BTW, I didn't see Chelsea Clinton teaching in DC Schools. Which, btw, are nightmares, for the most part. Good on you for that, Jenna!

Since you brought up another President-baby, do you think that this book would even have been read let alone published if Jenna were not a Bush?
