"These no-longer-supported versions of Windows should use the tzedit.exe utility to reset the Daylight Time change dates for your time zone. Here are the instructions, and also links to download tzedit.exe in case you can't find it on your Windows installation CD. Versions of tzedit are available for all levels of Windows, from 95 to XP. Tzedit is compatible with all application software. The alternative timezone.exe utility should not be used, because it is not compatible with some applications such as Lotus Notes.

I agree. I feel like I'm missing something. In the past few weeks I've heard a lot of chatter about the steps one should take in order to deal with the upcoming time change.

I have never had to do much of anything before. So why is March 2007 such a special event???

Why can't I just double click on the time indicator in the bottom right hand area of my taskbar and change the time, click OK and relax?

Supposedly, because it is happening 2 weeks early this year. To me, it seems like another Y2K scare. I could be wrong.

It's happening 3 weeks before it used to occur! Your operating system, among other things, was programmed to change the time on the first Sunday of April, not the second Sunday in March. Thus... the rub.

Registry modifications and obscure DOS command-line programs. What a crock of used food. Windows blows. The only thing Microsoft makes that isn't total crapware is Office, which is only moderately crappy.

My Mac automatically downloaded and installed a safe, secure fix for the Daylight Savings Time change weeks ago.
