Wife makes strife (Rudy again)
NY Daily News ^ | 3/4/07 | Dave Saltonstall

Rudy Giuliani's shaky family life is being hit with new tremors, as his son Andrew hit the interview circuit confirming that he is estranged from his father - and that the root of the tension is Giuliani's current wife, Judith.

"There's obviously a little problem that exists between me and his wife," Andrew Giuliani, 21, told The New York Times. "And we're trying to figure that out. But as of right now it's not working as well as we would like."

The comments underscored what friends have whispered and Andrew himself has all but acknowledged for more than a year - that relations with his father have been frosty for some time.

As one confidant told the Daily News last year, "I really believe he loves his father. It's just that right now it's still a little difficult to communicate with him."

Andrew said in an interview to be broadcast today on ABC's "Good Morning America" that he and his father went through "a decent amount of time" when they weren't speaking to one another, but they are now trying to work that out.

"No matter what he's done, I love my father," he said. "It's not as good as it once was - but it's better than it was at its lowest."

Andrew said The Times interview was not an attempt to scuttle his father's pursuit of the Republican nomination for President in 2008, saying, "I do not want to hurt him."

Still, the relationship is icy enough that Andrew told The News he would not be campaigning for his father and would instead chase his goal of becoming a pro golfer.

"Although almost half of marriages end in divorce, a good estimate of how many folks divorce is probably in the range of 25% - 30% of folk who marry at least once."

Got any figures to back that up?
When we talk of those that have been affected by divorce, including the children of divorced parents, the figures of those that live with divorce go even higher
But then that's not even the point.
The point being, divorce is is commonplace and so mainstream in America, that no one even gives it a second look. You can't have an electorate that has divorces going on all the time, be worried about a candidate because he's gotten a divorce.
You are still blowing smoke.

:) Thanks very much. I'm a little passionate when it comes to family as I am sure most people are. :)

Well, I've considered that picture.
And it left me a little sick at my stomach.
I'm sure it's a masterpiece.
But what the hell is it (denoting my philistine background)?

It's Goya's Saturn eating his young.

"This article reports that rather than leave "wifey" #3 home for certain important events in the recent aftermath of Mr. Giuliani's remarriage, that Mr. Giuliani has chosen to absent himself from important events in the lives of his children, including his son's high school graduation."

That's another nonstarter you got there, pal.
Every good parent strives to be present on the important occasions for their children. But depending on how high profile, how high up and how busy the parent is, it's not always possible to be present on EVERY big occasion for your kid.
Plenty of top executives for example have been forced to miss important occasions in their child's life because of a crises at the company. Lots of doctors miss some important occasions for their kids because a new emergency came up, and they had to save someone's life.
There is no law that says a parent MUST be there every time for important occasions, even it means someone else losing their lives or example. You are clutching at straws, and so far it's not working. Rudy keep soaring in the polls.

Ron Jr. is an awful jerk, and a liberal to boot, so I can't credit anything he says. Some of the others seem to have partaken of the Hollywood culture in which they grew up, but Michael is solid gold. As for the Slimes, they are a treasonous disgrace, but they actually do get their facts right sometimes. If the statements about Rudy not attending graduations, etc. are false, then he or a spokesman should have refuted them by now. Same for the stories about his adulterous affairs while Mayor. Those stories are credible to me, because clearly someone who thinks partial-birth abortion should be protected by law has no scruples at all.

he is a liberal--pro abortion, homosexuality, globalism , and anti-2nd amendment gun rights. He loves illegal aliens. He is not a conservative. I will never waste my vote on a neocon again.

"But the Baggage Gal, aka Madame DeFarge aka Hildabeast won't have anything but mawkish sentimentality printed about her"

Media carried the water of Lurch too. Didn't do him much good. The swift vets got round the liberal media and still managed to land some solid blows on Lurch, starting off by writing a very good attack book on Lurch. And believe me, there are going to be plenty of attack books on Hitlery as the elections get closer, and neither Hitlery nor the liberal media can do anything about it. The more they protest about them books, the more people will buy them. Plus outlets like Rush Limbaugh are going to mak sure folks get to know about them books.

Yes, and when we select the President, we are choosing the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

Maybe someone with a military background can explain why the military considers adultery a very bad thing in their ranks. Certainly military officers were disgusted that Bubba Clinton got away with something for which they could have been discharged. (Not that they weren't disgusted with the Clintoons anyway.)

I would guess that someone who is an adulterer is considered to be unreliable in any situation, and someone who is adulterous is a threat to other peoples' wives and hence to military cohesion and morale.

"Didn't work on Foley, right?"

Rudy is the same as Foley? Since when?
Practically all Rudy's divorces were front page news on the New York Post for days. He still won twice as mayor anyways. Nothing secret about it.
Plus Foley didn't have an opponent that has committed more crimes than anyone ever has in the White House like Hitlary has.
Meanwhile, Rudy has had plenty of experience in the nasty, bruising street-figher politics of New York, taking his opponents apart. Bring it on, pal!

Donna Hanover, I am sure, is encouraging her son to "go public" here.

Not gonna make any difference.
There is nothing new in any of that.

Probably. She's a real piece of work herself. Another reason to doubt Rudy's judgement.

I repeat, the only people who know what really goes on in a marriage are the two people involved--and sometimes one of them doesn't even know.

any man who has a vicious ex-wife, knows how she can use and manipulate the children, and teach them to despise the father.

That lil piece of yours makes me think you got no judgement at all.
If we are going to judge people by who they arry, why is Hitelry leading in the race for the RTAS nomination?
She married about the worst guy any woman could marry.
