If Giuliani can get through primaries, he stacks up well For a guy commonly regarded as a hero after 9/11, Mayor Giuliani is too quickly dismissed by presidential handicappers. Here's why he deserves a second look.

Senate Bills do get voted on in the House, if they originated in the Senate. Here's the roll call.

Okay. My mistake.

Registered, have you discerned why Rep. Hunter didn't vote.

No..."if so be it" is a stupid, selfish, immature response.

It amounts to "I don't care what happens to the country if I don't get my way."

Listen, the guy is running as a HUGE pro-lifer, yet this vote, probably one of THE most important pro-lifes because of the critical nature of the situation, wasn't enough motivation for him to cast a vote. Unless he was in the hospital I find the no vote inexcusable. Sorry if that offends you.

"There's NO WAY that you can convince me that Rudy is a worse option than those two."

I'm sure you would be happy with any of them since they all are with you on the open borders thing.

Hunter / Tancredo '08

Look, the GOP leadership was calling up lawmakers to come, in order to form a quorum. Apparantly, Hunter wasn't called up. Merely not showing up to vote out of your own volition doesn't mean anything. It was widely known that this was going to pass, the only question was whether it was going to pass by unanimous consent or by a recorded vote. As you can see here, this was the only vote between 17 March and 5 April. I see no reason for Hunter to interrupt his holiday when he wasn't even called up. I don't find the criticism offensive, I find the image offensive - especially the blatantly emotional nature of it.

Rudy will never be POTUS. You RuBots have caught a severe case of the "Katherine Harris" syndrome, and you intend to ride that horse over a cliff just like they did in Florida.

"Why do you have such a problem with people being able to see other issues as a priority in this election cycle?"

I don't. I just believe Tancredo or Hunter would be much better with the issues important to me as well as the issues important to all Americans. What people have done is a better indicator of what their future actions will be than what they say during primaries.

60 seconds flat for the Rudy bashers to arrive. Where are the usual suspects?

Remember the old song? Don't pull on Superman's cape, Don't spit into the wind? Well if you read the polls taken here concerning Rudy the idiot, you would realize you are dealing with over 60 percent of the people who post here. So, yes, you can expect a few Rudy bashers, as you call them, to show up. What a dork.

Anyone who likes Rudy is a liberal whether they realize it or not. Rudy IS A LIBERAL, he is the same as a Democrat, he epitomizes the word RINO but you Rudybots can't see that. Somehow you think electing a liberal that has an R after his name is better than electing one with a D after his/her name.

The truth is we need a REAL conservative in the WH, and yes they are electable, if they weren't, RR would never have been elected. Whine all you want, but this idiotic obsession with Rudy will split the party and let Hitlery, or whom ever wins the Dem nomination, walk into the WH.

Then we agree, everyone should vote for the candidate he or she believes best represents them on the issues important to them, and everyone else should respect their decisions.

You'd better go listen to Giuliani's CPAC speech instead of propagating you "found knowledge". For example, he clearly stated that marriage is "between one man and one woman", though he supported civil unions. You're also incorrect about his other positions, but I'm not doing your homework for you

Rudy is pro-gay. Rudy is a gun grabber, Rudy is a liberal first class. The reason you aren't "going to do his homework(stm's)for him" is because Rudy is all the stm says, and more and you have no way to prove otherwise. A few speeches made now to try to cover his ass doesn't mean he has changed. You can't be for abortion and against it. He has clearly laid out how he stands on firearms, abortion and his other left of center(and has stated he is left of clinton on some matters)ideas. A true RINO in every sense of the word. Try not to lie any more than you have to, ok?

"Then we agree, everyone should vote for the candidate he or she believes best represents them on the issues important to them, and everyone else should respect their decisions."

Yes, however, those who believe that a liberal can best represent their interests should probably look for a non-conservative website to express those liberal viewpoints.
Then I will respect their decisions.

Divorce only matters when it involves a politician they DON'T like. The rest of the time it's perfectly acceptable.

Another one telling us if we dont believe in their definition of a conservative we don't belong here. So much for respecting the opinions of others. Somehow I knew it was too much to ask.

Ronald Reagan had phenomenal personal charisma, executive experience as the governer of a large state, and the good fortune (after a manner of speaking) to follow Jimmy Carter into the White House.

Reagan had run in '76, too, you'll recall, and at that time he couldn't even beat FORD in the primaries.

If he hadn't had the great speaking ability and the provable executive experience, he might very well have lost to Carter in '80 as well, despite the clear principles.

> Anyone who likes Rudy is a liberal whether they realize

Somebody yesterday posted FR's mission statement and asked "where does Rudy fit in"?

After reading it, Giuliani was spot on on the entire first paragraph, matched word for word the second half of the first sentence in the second paragraph, and scored about 80% good on the remainder.

What a dork.... Anyone who likes Rudy is a liberal whether they realize it or not ..... he epitomizes the word RINO but you Rudybots can't see that.

I've said repeatedly that Guiliani would be my third choice to be nominated.

If the arrogant surity and snide commentary that you bring to the conversation is that of a "true conservative", then I'll be happy to see you take a hike.
