FreeRepublic Policy Statement
FrreRepublic ^ | Unknown | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/03/2007 5:38:03 PM PST by ZULU

"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "

"Why would any good Republican Bash another Republican? Especially Rudy, a guy that has helped so many Conservative candidates in the last election."

Easy answer...to split the party vote in favor or Hillery by proudly crediting the demonizing of Rudy on "True Conservatives".

Sometimes in politics you need to compromise and be pragmatic about things. I see your point.

I'm not sure that so early in the game its possible to to so certain that only one candidate can be the key to achieving our objectives - especially with his philosophical differences with the Republican base.

Slapping forehead and cringing.

Make my last post read, "FOR (not against) the greater part of everything Republican conservatives decry and oppose"

Getting back to that, Giuliani is clearly OK on the entire first paragraph, the second half of the first sentence in the second paragraph, at least half the second sentence in the second paragraph, and all rest of paragraph 2.

He is clearly a proponent of the WOT, and he's a champion of law and order and capitalism.

Does that make him Duncan Hunter? No, but it does make him not the flaming marxist harbinger of doom that some would have it.

And, since it seems all about the Ronald Reagan thing, it would be well to remember his 11th commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.

That is what I said...you did start a thread that has a lot of participation.

Luckily there are some very smart, funny, level headed..and good spirited freepers that showed up on your thread...because it has produced some discussion and not all name calling and spamming.

The reason I know that is because I stayed....I have been enjoying the give and take.

Lately, I haven't stayed on a lot of threads because of some of the nastiness...spamming and name-calling.

Just something to think about: IF, IF for some quirky reason, Rudy DOES become the GOP candidate...these threads will still be archived somewhere...LOLOLOLOLOL

Let me re phrase that.

I supported him at first, but then opened my eyes and worked to defeat him.

We were last sold this bill of goods when we nominated Bob Dole. He was a moderate, and many of us couldn't stand him. We played right into the Clinton's hands. There was zero enthusiasm for the guy. We did our duty and voted for him.

You are saying we should yield 60 percent of the political field, nominate a candidate who agrees with Democrats as often as us, and has done one absurd thing after another during his career, even endorsing Mario Cuomo in a competitive race for governor.

He is what he is. Gerald Ford was very similar to Rudy in politics and temperament. His legacy is John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court, Win Buttons, the fall of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, inflation, and a horrific crime rate. Jimmy Carter beat the guy. That's Rinoism in action. We mustn't let it rule us again.

Enjoy your movie. My best.

"When I found FR 9 years ago it was a far different ballgame than it is today since it has been swamped with RINOs trying to convince conservative FReepers to accept a NYC style liberal RINO who has taken a stance at one time or another against the greater part of everything Republican conservatives decry and oppose."

Very true. What I find interesting is how many of these RINOs here are long time freepers, as you are. Did these guys change their views from when they first started posting here, or have they always been RINOs. Curious.

You know, I don't think I've EVER seen a real conservative misuse the term fascist; however, the liberals do it all the time.

But for now, everybody should shill for their favorite, as long as they understand that the winner gets 100% of our support after the dust settles.

I'm not sure I understand the implications of what you are stating.

I have not engaged in name-calling or bashing to my knowledge.

My differences with Giuliani are philosophical not personal.

"As long as all of you right wing whack jobs stay in this thread, FR will be just fine through the '08 elections! Kudos to ZULU for rounding you all up! ATTABOY ZULU!"

It's also good at exposing the RINO lovers on the board.

I voted for Reagan....I liked Reagan...but the man had FAULTS...the man raised taxes, he ran from Lebanon..he signed an amnesty bill for illegals...

The man was NOT PERFECT...and I have to tell you that when I was watching the speeches at CPAC this week..I CRINGED everytime EACH candidate and even Newt Gingrich had to extole Reagan..and try to associate himself with him.

These men that want to link themselve to Reagan will..in the next breath deride the spending lately..but not applaud the tax cuts...will swear about the illegals...without pointing out the FIRST amnesty...

Will gnash their teeth at letting our enemy get so strong before we fought back...without mentioning pulling our troops from Lebanon even though we KNEW exactly where the leader of the Hezbollah was hiding...

All I am saying is...REAGAN would be bashed if he was running now..and promised the things that happened under his watch.

As far as getting rid of Communism and tearing down the wall??? I think that Putin would disagree that there is no wall.

I couldn't agree more. Well said.

Here is a quick history lesson:

The last person elected President of the United States not from the executive branch was JFK in 1960 -- and there is a real question about the legitimacy of that election. The last person elected POTUS not from the south or California was also JFK.

That is eleven staright elections with that criteria. Sure, it could change in 2008 but there would need to be a reason for it.

Just something to consider.
