"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "

"Rudy? He's for all of the above except 2 and 6. But evidently, 11 out of 13 isn't good enough."
How can Rudy be pro-abortion and pro God? Or pro gun control and be pro bill of rights, pro constitution, pro defense, pro freedom or even pro american? Doesn't look to good when you break it down, does it? Our second ammendment is fundamental to the entire bill of rights and the constitution, without it we have nothing.

This is supposed to be the place where I get the information to make up my own mind on the issue of who gets my vote for president. We are months and months away. But it appears there is a slate of people I should not be allowed to consider, whatever the situation might be when it actually comes time to vote.
I think you are getting the information just not to your liking. But that's OK because none of us agree completely on everything with each other. I could feel very alienated because I am not of the Reformed denominations nor am I Catholic nor do I agree with President Bush's moderate stances on illegal aliens. I have been ridiculed and criticized by other free republic people. However, I stand up to them and dig my heels in more firmly. If you believe you are right than you must stand up for what you think and tell them so. Take their criticism well and realize we each have a right to our opinion. If you get told off so what! If you disagree say why and be willing to defend your position. Please...don't put your tail between legs and run. When I have criticized President Bush I always get bashed by someone but so what! My advice is simple...take criticism well and than defend what you believe. Oh, and work hard at ending a disagreement or having been told off by someone in as pleasant a way as possible. Take the high ground and it will rub off on others.

Absolutely. You vote your ideals in the primaries. In the general election, you have to be more pragmatic.

REPLY:
I support all of the above and spent 5 years of my life defending these values for this country.
However, I get the feeling that if I do not support certain peoples ideals of a good conservative candidate then I to am not a good conservative, to me thats unadulterated Bullavshitsky.
I support Duncan Hunter my neighbor and congressman first and then who ever the majority of the party chooses for it's candidate whether Duncan, Tom, Fred, Rudy, Mitt or old Billy Bob the Coon Hunter.
We must not let a Democrat under any circumstance take the Presidency of this great nation.

I heard about it , from Drudge when he was on FOX. There is a lot of finger pointing right now but we will work it out, much to the enemies disappointment.

As of yet, no, I have not seen any Rudy bashing on *this* thread and certainly none prior to your post. If you don't like to see Rudy's liberal record being posted here and discussed then maybe you should not be here. If you disagree with the goals and purpose of FR, like I said, go to DU. Want a link? In the very first post the person is bashing Rudy. what are you talking about? This entire post in framed to bash Rudy, Did he NOT cut taxes? Does he support "School Choice/Vouchers"?, Did he defend the Lord? yes... so leave Rudy alone.

don't know what that is and don't act like you don't see the Rudy bashing on this website.
Maybe you missed it when you signed up for Free Republic tow days ago, but this is a CONSERVATIVE forum. Rudy has ZERO CONSERVATIVE qualifications. Why should we support him when there is a conservative when there are real conservatives running?

And as it appears, that is where this is going.Well, if you prefer to jump on the bandwagon and let the media lead you down that road, bon voyage.
But I'd feel like a hypocrite if I just talked about being a conservative, and when the time came to put action to words I just followed the path of political expediency.
If you don't stand up for your principles before the race has even started, why even bother? What do you have to lose by taking a stand with conservative candidates in the formative days before the primaries even begin?
If you don't stand for something, you'll probably fall for anything!

The answer is NO. So what you gonna do about it? No one is forcing you to be here. Either go with the flow or go elsewhere, but don't be telling us to "leave Rudy alone". That's childish.
