"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "
Well said, Jim.
thank you.
Not particularly. There are MANY things I don't like about Rudy. But if push came to shove... and the choice was Rudy or Hillary. Guess who you would vote for. And as it appears, that is where this is going.
De nada.
And to see it here at FR is shocking and very disappointing.
I can't think of ONE GOOD REASON a Democrat would "bash" a guy who essentially agrees with them on nearly every social issue of consequence, supported Democrats in the past, started as a Democrat, other than the fact he doesn't cal himself one.
By the way, check my prior posting history and registration date - I ain't no Democrat.
and I ahven't accused people who support Giuliani on this forum as being Democrats - just misled.
That wasn't the question.
My sincerest apologies. To the questions itself:
Where the HECK does RUDY GIULIANI fit in with the ABOVE????
I should have said to be specific: With respect to the positions of the founder of FR as reflected in the statement at the beginning of the thread, Rudy Giuliani apparently fits in about the same as 65% of the American people do.
Is it a skirmish in a long fight? Can we plan ahead more than one election? There has been some good work at the primary level, but not enough. I think we can do more there. Any Republican candidate, and certainly a president, will be under assault constantly by the left (almost all dems) and the media (almost all dems). How do we help our side and our cause? By destroying anyone who is somewhat with us, but not in the way we would like on everything. I don't have the answers to these questions, but I would like to keep the discussion going on a level somewhere above Giuliani having done some appearances in drag, or Romney being a Mormon, and on and on.
But I would like to win back the House and Senate with people more conservative than less, and I would like to hold on to the White House. I am just looking for realistic ways to get there. This matters to me and, I think, to my country. (Sorry to be so verbose.)
I like Rudy, he's on our side and wants the terrorists dead.
Hillary is a Communist so fire away.
What brought you to FR? Oh, and welcome.
Oh. REALLY???
Posting the founding principles of this forum and asking a simple question about how a candidate fits in with those principles is a THREAT to you?
Interesting thought process.
I read and article and Free Republic was mentioned in it, I can't remember if it was News Max or Michelle Malkin, one of them.
He's a NOOB.
Yep. He got that right. All the above. In spades.
You're scaring me, Sarge . . .
My, you are new. I like the "boom" on your home page :)
I found F.R. during the re-count. I was going crazy with the court cases and re-counts and the way the media was covering it. So I did a search and found this forum. Up until recently, it has been a great place to learn news and share ideas. Little real news seems to show up here lately and some of us are obviously no longer welcome.
"don't know what that is and don't act like you don't see the Rudy bashing on this website."
As of yet, no, I have not seen any Rudy bashing on *this* thread and certainly none prior to your post. If you don't like to see Rudy's liberal record being posted here and discussed then maybe you should not be here. If you disagree with the goals and purpose of FR, like I said, go to DU. Want a link?
Uh. I didn't ask about bogus polls taken EARLY in the election cycle about a candidate whose history and philosophies have been relatively little known.
I asked about a plain statement of conservative philosphy and the social views of said candidate.
