I agree, Coulter stepped over the line.
It's important that Republicans and conservatives send a message that we are not a party of hate.
She has no idea how much damage she has caused with her stupid remarks.
I used to like her. Now it seems she just wants to shock. But I think the Edwards campaign is going a touch overboard. Liberals say some pretty nasty things as well, on his own site at times.
I really hate what politics has come to. It is not even close to being about the people now.
What is regrettable about this, having thought about it - is that Edwards was on the ropes because of having hired anti-Catholic bloggers - this just injected some life into his listless campaign.
Regards, Ivan
This is what Ann really said:
http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Ann_Coulter_calls_John_Edwards_faggot/20070302-105935-6328r/
It turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I'm kind of at an impasse -- I can't really talk about Edwards," she said.
"Rehab" may have been a reference to "Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington's decision to go into rehab during a public relations firestorm after he called one of his co-stars a "faggot."

That's what UPI and other Libnuts want people to believe. They twist the truth to support their agenda.
Apologizing shows weakness. Conservatives need to stop allowing the media and the democrats to tell us what to do.
When Newt resigned, did it make things better? And when Trent Lott quit the majority leader? And when Bob Livingston threw himself on the sword? And when Rumsfeld resigned?
Did any of this make the media and the democrats like us? Of course not.
So let's stop apologizing and keep on offense.
"She has no idea how much damage she has caused with her stupid remarks."
A radical Muslim gives the invocation at the Democrat Caucus weekend, calls the US occupiers and not a peep from a Democrat or the Media.
Coulter is not a congressmen. She is a good looking right wing commentator. This is what she does. If the Conservatives do not like it, don't invite her back. They knew what she was going to say.
Check out Hillary's hero Saul Alinsky method of dealing with the enemy. It reads like the DNC handbook.
Dean needs to take his phony moral outrage and flush it down the toilet where the rest of his crap floats.
I think she does know.
I think that's why she's around.
She's a weird, 'Rat plant
pretending to be
"conservative" to make us
look like idiots.
I don't consider homosexuals to be a "protected" minority. To me, they are like vegetarians or creative anachronists. Unfortunatly, the "Friends of Dorothy" have alot of clout within the media.
Not nearly as much as your disingenuous PC crap.
You may not have noticed, but the "progressives" have a constant barrage of "party of hate" accusations before Ann said a word. What difference should it make?
I think it's far more important that we fight politically correct speech codes tooth and nail. "Party of hate" is the kind of bogus term that shouldn't be rolled out until somebody starts endorsing genocide (and trust methe Democrats are closer to that than we are). It shouldn't be used because someone made a joke about a candidate being swishy.
For a highly intelligent woman this sure was stooopid!
It's important that Republicans and conservatives send a message that we are not a party of hate.
She has no idea how much damage she has caused with her stupid remarks.
You are totally right. There is a lack of character displayed by Ann here and others do it as well. An absence of common decency is NOT a conservative value.
I hear so many on this site talk about lines they won't cross. And yet this is the same thing. It is an unwillingness to adhere to principle.
Actually, I don't think she cares. She got the result she desired. Everyone's talking about her today.
Frankly, I don't know why what one person says can possibly be such a big deal, though her remarks were inappropriate. She's one insignificant person. Her opinion isn't terribly important.
Oh she has a very good idea.
So you think it would have been OK she'd just called him "Gay"?
Actually I think that's what she was attempting to get at. Gay is OK, faggot is not, yet they mean exactly the same thing. One is just a term of derision, the other hasn't been, but is getting to be.
Maybe Edwards has gone Gay? At minimum, he is more than a little light in the loafers, like Don Knotts as Ralph Furley, used to say. Or was it the other guy, Norman Fell as Stanley Roper?
Bull.
In a line where a Democrat supporter like Baldwin can suggest that a Republican official and his family should be stoned to death, THERE AIN'T NO LINE.
