Idiotic. Disgusting. Stupid. Moronic.
I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, whos shocked? She obviously cant behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. Its not a lack of intelligence. Its an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if its unflattering.
(For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres audio of her calling John Edwards a faggot at CPAC today.)

Michelle Malkin -
***4:15pm update***
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Bryan Preston of 'Hot Air' -
Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gores green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Heres what she said.
Id say something about John Edwards, but if you say faggot you have to go to rehab.
Im no fan of John Edwards, but thats just a stupid joke. Its over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was raghead. This year its calling John Edwards a faggot. Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.
Thanks, Ann.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.
I wonder if John Edwards is a niggardly faggot or just a faggot.
LOL. It's funny because it has truth: Edwards may not be gay (jury is still out, IMHO--lol), but he is a metrosexual to the max. He's the Breck Girl, for crying out loud! :)
People miss the point she makes. There is a double standard to conservatives when they say certain words; and the Dems/media proved it today with this selective outrage. People are afraid of words--they fear words. I think it is childish and pathetic. Political correctness is a scourge. This incident proves how low American culture has sunk when it can't even take a joke.
This whole blow-up is so preposterous. Why is Edwards called a "silky pony" and "Breck girl" if not to bring attention to his delicate, overrefined, and effeminate appearance and behavior?
Ann merely uttered the word clearly that the others fully intended when they resorted to euphemisms.
Of course it wasn't funny--and not second guessing Ms. Coulter, I am sure she meant just what she said...this hub bub here is nothing more the POLITICAL CORRECTNESS...which is slowly destroying America....The DNC does this stuff all the time..and gets away with it.
And didn't someone call us a bunch of Neanderthals?
Should we also see to it that a little thing like 9/11 not cause us our our speakers to be mean to the Islamofascisti?
Is there or ought there to be something soooooo specially PC about CPAC that its speakers had better not be critical of homosexuals, Islamofascisti, communists, socialists, babykillers, street thugs, dominatrices, gummint skewel teachers, animal "lovers," and participants in twelvesomes (single or multiple species, single or multiple genders) lest conservatives be considered "mean" or "heartless" or, Wodin forbid, "insensitive?????"
As a Catholic, I reserve my reverence for God and religious occasions. As a conservative, I want to be part of the most irreverent POLITICAL movement of all, directed at the enemies of Western Civilization. As someone else posted, if they can't stand the heat, they should get the heck out of the kitchen.

Not likely to happen. I think he can outrun her. Must be the loafers.
Quite an attractive couple, aren't they? Looks a bit like "Mayans gone wild"! :)
ditto that and also missed was her EXACT wording and those words REAL meaning.............
"Agreed. I like Ann. I can only imagine the contempt she must feel for some of the posters to this thread."
How can any rational person feel anything but contempt for these posters?
They are like ravenous dogs.
They are either Soros stooges (which a lot of them are), or hopelessly clueless.
We go through this same exercise every time Coulter makes a joke (Justice Stevens) -- or tells the unvarnished truth (9/11 widows).
And we get the same posters who say the same things on every thread about Coulter.
Funny how they seldom show up on any other thread.
But they have to pretend to be oblivious of all humor to make their "points." Though I suppose some of them aren't pretending.
But my God what a disgusting spectacle.
And Michele Malkin and the other bloggers who are seizing upon this are just showing why they are such second rankers. (To put it politely.)
They are not very bright. And they have never been too concerned about getting things right.
Or did Michele find out that the AP was lying about their Iraqi source after all?
No, of course she didn't. That was quietly swept under the rug, like so many of her all too regular "missteps."
But Coulter (whom she has shamelessly aped) is discrediting the conservative movement when she makes a joke.
Why anyone champions the right is beyond me. It is a thankless task at best.
Not only do you have to contend with the well-funded left, but you have the jealous ankle-biters who jumped on the conservative train once they saw it as a way to make a quick buck.
Neither I nor Congress are attempting to silence Ann. Freedom of speech is a complete canard issue. I'm just pointing out that despite the democRATs assertion, Ann is not now and never has been a "mouthpiece" of the GOP.
Yep. Good for Ann. Must we all bow to the Thought Police?
Anyone who thinks this push to "rehab" our beliefs and morals is a joke is going to be very surprised when their pastors are discouraged from speaking against homosexuality in the pulpit or their kids are taught in school that homosexuality is a correct lifestyle.
Oh, wait. Those days are already here.
Republicans can't have it both ways. Ann is one of the few voices who says the truth and takes the hit. We need ten of her.
Ah yes, very adorable, why we should all be so lucky. BLEK!
Heck between them they got more makeup on then id use all year. Avon must love them LOL
The DUmp is calling, better run over there, they need your expert well reasoned opinions.
Don't defend Ann where she doesn't deserve it. She is not a talented writer. What's good about her is that she is not afraid to say what many are thinking. She goes too far but it is no farther than the left goes in their personal attacks.
Doesn't your oh-so-clever handle read as "hey, f*ck Dems"?
Yeah, you have such high standards.
You aren't fooling anyone, but those who want to be fooled.
More's the pity.
We're all going to end up in rehab at this rate.
Don't ping to me again, troll.
Let me think...
Calling a culture of crazed world killers "ragheads" and calling an opposition political frontrunner a "faggot" is equally "reprehensible"?
Who is this clown?
Ragheads...
Ignorant ragheads.
Primitive useless mass murdering ragheads.
Ragheads from the cutting edge of the 7th century...
