From the Duncan Hunter website -

"Peace through strength is my belief and conviction." DH

I also like - "Trust, but verify." RR

Did he address his positions on gun control, abortion, gay rights?

Of course not! You want him to commit political suicide on live TV?

He knows his audience, and played to them.

I was almost crying when I was listening...a guy who gets it, a guy who can convey it and most importantly, THE GUY WHO CAN CARRY IT OUT! I am more hopeful today than I have been in years.

When you listen to candidates speak, they speak in generalities...we must have peace, we must have better education, yada yada yada..It's always the same. He talks about what we must do to succeed and, althout that sounds like a no-brainer for a candidate to do, we never really hear it. Think about it. I hope he can maintain this wave for a year. I pray he can maintain.

I loved that he addressed the social difference he has. He's right. You pick the most important and you go with that. And for those here who think that abortion and gay marriage is more important than the War on Terror, I say, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Go follow your heart...go campaign for Duncan....But don't yell at me for wanting a President who will do everything in his power to save our country. Because to me...that's the issue.

After hearing Rudy follow Wayne LaPierre, I would hope that LaPierre would enter the presidential race. He certainly has a more dynamic presentation.

He did great. And given how he did in the strawpoll in the Bible Belt last night, he's going to do just fine.

Very good job summarizing the speech for those of us who are cube-bound. Thank you!

The second part goes like this "...now hand over your firearms or you will be arrested."

I think so; my screen was pretty dark and I have a small television in this study and was typing, but I thought I saw them standing.

Can anyone else confirm?

Spiff, honestly... do you come equipped with a rheostat? You really should learn to tone down the non-stop hysteria, over and over. It would make your opposition much more effective. Instead of persuading me or winning me over -- and Rudy is not my dream candidate -- you're actually enforcing the impression that you're unreasonable and not to be taken seriously. You're too much.

Bears repeating.

Great idea! I was very impressed with the reception and to see so many young people not only listening but applauding. They understand Rudy is a leader! Most people like to hear speakers filled with optimism and how they can make it better which is what Rudy is all about.

Young people today don't wanted to be pandered to and want politicians who tell them the truth and let them decide. I have two kids in college who are perfect examples of that along with their friends. All are big Rudy supporters.
