I was almost crying when I was listening...a guy who gets it, a guy who can convey it and most importantly, THE GUY WHO CAN CARRY IT OUT! I am more hopeful today than I have been in years.
When you listen to candidates speak, they speak in generalities...we must have peace, we must have better education, yada yada yada..It's always the same. He talks about what we must do to succeed and, althout that sounds like a no-brainer for a candidate to do, we never really hear it. Think about it. I hope he can maintain this wave for a year. I pray he can maintain.
I loved that he addressed the social difference he has. He's right. You pick the most important and you go with that. And for those here who think that abortion and gay marriage is more important than the War on Terror, I say, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Go follow your heart...go campaign for Duncan....But don't yell at me for wanting a President who will do everything in his power to save our country. Because to me...that's the issue.
He did great. And given how he did in the strawpoll in the Bible Belt last night, he's going to do just fine.
Bravo!
We dedicate this next song for you - In Living Color's Cult of Personality.
This isn't popular on FR, but your second point is so important, and it's Dubya's and his admin's greatest deficiency. A clear, cogent, and persuasive GOPer is what we will need in the post 'incomprehensible president' era.
What has killed more people, terrorism or abortion?
Drama queen. Take a deep breath and have a drink.
