McCain announces on Letterman tonight he is running for President, says source that sat through the taping... He was sitting in the chair when he told Dave and the audience. He was wildly applauded.... MORE...
Dignity is still out as a political commodity. Shouldn't such announcements be made at a serious forum?
Nixon was sort of funny going on Laugh In to say "Sock it to me" but I've never liked seeing grandstanding on such superfical shows. This was not just an appearance. It was supposed to be a serious announcement. I think it makes McCain look like a jerk.
I've been negligent about sending a check to Duncan Hunter but now I'm really going to do it. I know he is a long shot and may have some negatives that I don't know about and may not spend his campaign money wisely but...he is the best guy I've spotted on the horizon.
I think it makes McCain look like a jerk.
Powder..Patch..Ball FIRE!
How many times do I have to say I'll sit out if he is the nominee....
Only think stopping him is the vote.
Newt just endorsed Guiliani in the Cooper Union debate.
He's In! Who's in? No, Who's not in! Then, who's in? He's in! Who's in? No, Who's not in!.....
"Ugh. I am still dumbfounded as to why this man keeps getting re-elected."
No one opposed him in the primaries. Again.
McCain looks, and is, old tired and barely in control of his animosity for POTUS. He has a great resume' but not enough to overcome his personal shortcomings of narcissistic entitlement to an office. Other than courting the MSM and all those unhappy with POTUS, he has really not waged anything resembing a campaign.
He is going to California to get more money. He has spent huge sums on advisers. What he really believes is now a mystery except his resentment directed to President Bush and his Administration. A poor excuse to justify being the new POTUS.
I have a question.
How in the world does McCain think he's electable - seeing that the entire (Ok, only 95%) conservative base is against him?
Surely his "Presidential Exploration Committee" might have researched this key factoid.
" McCain looks, and is, old tired "
I had no idea that McCain was 71 years old, older than Ronald Reagan when he took office.
Apparently he believes that with the MSM on his side, he doesn't need the conservative base.
F McCain.
McCain's campaign is DOA, for the Republican nomination anyway. Who is the only Republican presidential candidate not appearing at CPAC this week? Why that would be Johnny Mc! I applaud his stand on the war, but that's about the only thing he's gotten right in the last seven years.
Ah, poo! Doubleplus ungood.
He may think he is in but the people are telling him he is out
You all disunderstand. He said he has the "RUNS"!
Six months max.
