Just what ARE Rudy's qualifications that make him the "BEST man to lead as CIC?"

Please, I'd really like to know.

Do none of our other Republican candidates even compare to Rudy's superior military/war experience and knowledge?

Not to mention his ONE AND ONLY PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATION to President Bush (that we know of),,,Head of Homeland Security--his good buddy, Bernie Kerik.

We all know how much help he was there in the WOT,,,and how well that turned out!!

I guess we could expect more OUTSTANDING appointments like that from Pres Guiliani. /s

sure I do, I post on lots of threads. knocking Hillary, defending Scooter Libby, I'm vehemently against extension of US court rights to prisoners at Gitmo, a whole host of things.

I also have sent support the troops supplies to the Walter Reed effort, ping any of the organizers for that and they will tell you I have sent gift cards, phone cards, requested supplies, etc.

On public property.

You never have to license a vehicle or get an inspection sticker if it is used on private property.

You are not bright, but thanks for playing.

Do some research or STFU.

Didn't you hear? Even though we're not supposed to mention any of his positions on social issues from longer than five minutes ago, his record as mayor makes him the father of supply side economics.

"could really care less about his views on abortion or other 'litmus test' issues that most conservatives against Rudy are touting. To me those are minor issues compared to the WOT and displaying an ability to lead and execute his vision. "

Abortion: The systematic murdering of babies is an act of terrorism. They are totally defenseless and innocent victims and are deserving of someone who is willing to defend and rescue them. To me, the WOT includes the abortion industry and its supporters.

It is not a "lithmus test". Those young Americans have a constitutional right to life.

I'm not sure what your problem is. Nobody would be criticizing McCain if he weren't running for president. That puts his record on the line.

The record is that he was a careless or incompetent pilot who was nicknamed "Ace" because he crashed five of his own planes, he was taken prisoner before flying many missions, he MAY have played the traitor while he was a POW, he dumped his loyal wife when he got back in order to marry a rich woman and run for the Senate, he bribed clinton to take the DEA off his second wife's case after she stole drugs from the business whe was working for, he betrayed his fellow POW/MIAs when he was chair of the committee that was supposed to be investigating their fate, he worked endlessly to pass a law restricting free speech, and so forth.

If he had gone back to being a private citizen, nobody would be raking this up. But if he wants to run for president, we need to know what kind of president we would be getting. Not a man I would trust with his finger on the nuclear football.

What difference does it make? He's the RNC Anointed One. And CIC of what? The NAU military?

You mean like this one...

"Ex-Giuliani aide arrested on child porn, other charges"
http://edition.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/03/17/giuliani.exaide.ap/

Or how about this one....

"Giuliani set to appoint chief of staff's mother to $142,700-a-year Housing Authority post "

"I don't share this view about Romney after collecting some facts. In my view, Romney's qualifications and resolve in the WOT are equal to Giuliani.

That is his campaign platform, but how will he react if he becomes president and

1. Congress passes resolutions and cuts funding
2. The NYTimes and the WoPo say his plan is illegal.
3. CAIR calls him a meanie and a racist.

I think I know how Guiliani woudl deal with such people, but I'm not so sure about Romney.

The man has the gift to inspire and persuade. Rudy has a mastery of the English language, and a loveable New Yawk moxie quality. That is why he is the right man to lead the WOT. He has the power to persuade and generate confidence.

I know you don't like it. Suck it up.

Evidently, you are unable to follow a simple argument.

What Guiliani says is more favorable to gun rights than the current law, and therefore a step in the right direction.

The only absolutists who get everything they want in one fell swoop is the pro-abortion crowd.

If that's what you think, I don't..

his record as mayor makes him the father of supply side economics.

Those are your words, not mine.

Now back to what I was saying. Rudy had a good conservative fiscal record when he was mayor. I hope our nominee is a good a fiscal conservative as well as a good social conservative.

"What Guiliani says is more favorable to gun rights than the current law, and therefore a step in the right direction. "

You have got to be kidding.

1. He called for an "assault weapons" ban stronger than the one signed by clinton in 1994.

2. He wants uniform federal handgun licensing. Presumably, like NY city. Which means it will be next to impossible for the average (non politically connected / celebrity) citizen to buy or own a handgun.

You can try to spin it how you want, but he is a gun grabber of the biggest kind.

And I'm not even mentioning his lawsuit intended to bankrupt the gun industry in 2000!

By the way, in your poll, Rudy is closing in on my predicted end number, up, up, and away, 28.3%. Will he make it? It is also an interesting poll, in that lurkers are considerably more pro Rudy than actual FR members, which is unusual. Usually FR polls don't show much difference, but this poll does. Has your culling had an impact? Only the shadow knows.

I would take Federal licensing in a flash.

With the country as it is, it would probably be 'must issue' with a liability insurance requirement. Those of us in NYC would be able to own guns.

Those in more rural states could use state law, if they like it better.

That is a very legitimate question, and the fact that you have to ask is an extraordinary commentary into the mindset of Rudy, AND his handlers.

Keep in mind that Rudy is being carefully groomed, and is allowed to give only very measured public responses; he says nothing that will hurt his poll numbers.

Rudy's handlers---the Everything-For-Us-Nothing-For-Conservatives types---decide what you should know about the candidate, and when you should know it.

His handlers have apparently decided Rudy's military/war credentials (or lack of them) are not to be discussed.

Military talk is such a turnoff to Rudy's favored constituency---the liberal vote. (Remember, Bill Clinton said he "loathed" the military.)

It annoys Rudy's handlers when conservatives ask "annoying" questions about the military.
